After our first experience dining at Creekside, we will not be returning.
I believe our server, Kaitlyn according to the bill, may have been hard of hearing or simply lacked basic serving skills. While we were ordering, she did not write anything down despite myself having a few customizations due to dietary restrictions and she did not repeat back to us what we ordered. Some folks in this industry have excellent memories and not writing orders down isn’t mandatory but it likely would have prevented our order from being wrong.
My husband ended up getting what I ordered because she thought he said “same sandwich” instead of “steak sandwich”. When we got our food and brought it to her attention, she was waaaayyy too rude for something that was her mistake. She stared at my husband and argued with us like it was his fault she didn’t hear him right and it felt like she was trying to guilt him into keeping a meal he didn’t want. “You said same sandwich”, “Well I heard same sandwich”, she kept saying as if that would change anything.
In fact, her attitude was so sour about it, we half-heartedly joked at our table that she was going to spit on his food when it came back out.
In addition to her inability to take meal orders, we had to ask for our bills several times because she kept forgetting to bring them.
We understand folks have bad days and we try to empathize when service workers make mistakes but this was simply unprofessional and she obviously needs to work on paying more attention to customers and writing orders down.
The food was okay but it wasn’t quite “good enough” to warrant a second chance after how we were treated. There are plenty of other pub + grills in Kelowna which much friendlier staff.
COVID comment: staff were wearing those plastic mouth guards and they’re actually quite disgusting and not as affective as cloth masks because of how open the tops of the...
Read moreSo we just went for Wings at the Creekside Pub , which used to be an amazing place with amazing food and a great staff ! We used to go twice a week , Wing Wednesday and again on Saturday for Ceasers as the energy was excellent and the staff were great food was amazing and they had homemade handcut fries , the tastiest fries going , but now they are frozen from a bag ... I stopped ordering anything with fries because there is a huge difference in taste and quality ... But over the last few months the quality of food has declined and prices in some case have went up . Tonite we were served our wings with a dipping sauce (usually for the veggies that came with) and no veggies ... When I asked the waitress about the missing veggies she told us there is now an up charge for the 4-6 veggies that would accompany the wings , I laughed and thought she was kidding because they still served the veggie dip , but to my great dismay she was being serious because apparently its not cost efficient anymore so they will no longer be serving veggies with wings unless you pay more ... Nor will they be serving the fries they were known for ... I'm not one to usually write a review , I usually just stop going to places when such things happen , but the Creekside was a regular hangout for my friends and I , but now most of my friends are no longer going there as there is better Wing deals elsewhere and they aren't getting nickle and dimed to death for lower quality food ! ... This saddens me but after 5 years of Loyal customers we will be doing the same as of today , ... The Creekside is losing all the people that kept them in business ... Terrible to see this...
Read moreWe visited The Creekside Pub for the first time this evening. Upon entering the pub, the atmosphere was good, not too busy. Our Waitress was quick to attend us, but that is where the positive comments end. Our waitress asked us what we would like to drink and when my husband asked what his options were(there was no drink menu on the table or offered by the waitress before we ordered), the waitress turned a bit rude and was barely able to tell my husband his options. When we figured out our drinks, we also ordered an appy, which arrived hot and tasted good, but we were not provided with any plates to eat said appy on. Just a few napkins. Next, come the meals. My husband ordered the fish and chips and i ordered the chicken tenders with fries. I have no complaints about the chicken, i enjoyed my meal for what it was, but my husband couldn't finish his fish for the poor quality of it. We chose the Creekside Pub based on the number of positive google reviews, but i'm sorry to say that we were disappointed with our experience. Perhaps we just caught the staff on an off day, but i don't think my husband and i will be returning...
