Located in the heart of Markham, Markville Mall offers a pleasant and diverse shopping experience for visitors of all ages. With over 160 stores and services, this mall provides a mix of popular brand names, local boutiques, and a variety of dining options. While not the largest mall in the area, Markville Mall still stands out due to its clean and modern design, making it an enjoyable destination for shopping and leisure.
Pros:
Store Selection: Markville Mall has a well-balanced mix of high-end retailers, popular brands, and unique local shops. From fashion and accessories to electronics and home goods, you'll likely find what you're looking for during your visit. Ambiance and Cleanliness: The mall is well-maintained, with a modern design and comfortable seating areas throughout. The bright and airy atmosphere makes for a relaxed shopping experience, and the cleanliness of the mall is consistently commendable. Dining Options: Markville Mall offers a variety of dining choices to cater to different tastes. The food court features a wide range of fast-food and casual dining options, while several restaurants and cafes provide more relaxed settings for a sit-down meal or a quick coffee break. Accessibility and Parking: The mall is easily accessible via public transportation and offers ample free parking for visitors. In addition, the parking lots are well-lit, and the layout makes it easy to navigate both on foot and by car. Cons:
Crowded on Weekends: Markville Mall can get quite busy during weekends and holidays, which can make for a less enjoyable shopping experience. To avoid the crowds, consider visiting during weekdays or earlier in the day. Limited Entertainment Options: While the mall has a decent selection of shops and dining choices, it falls short when it comes to entertainment offerings. There is no movie theater or other significant entertainment venues within the mall, which may leave visitors looking for more to do. Overall, Markville Mall offers a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience in Markham, with a wide variety of stores and dining options. While it can get crowded during peak times and may not have as many entertainment options as larger malls, it remains a pleasant destination for shopping...
Read morePros: Decathlon is a very welcoming addition to the mall and I hope it stays. St Germain and Hazukido have good quality food. Sometimes they have nice events that are fun for families. There’s a nursing room in the upper level women’s bathroom.
The rest of the mall is pretty standard as malls go.
Cons: spotty cellular reception. I’ve only seen a live person once at Guest Services. A glass ceiling that’s covered by bird poop. There food court is on the boring side. Not enough cleaning staff to keep the tables clean at busy times. One or two food stalls keep changing ownership and it‘s bad for morale. The most unforgiving fact is that the women’s bathrooms (both of them, next to the food court and on the upper level) have a persistent smell of stale urine. One time at 9:30am… How does that even happen?
Lame: this mall used to offer free wifi, which was sorely needed because of spotty cellular reception in that area. But now it tries to collect your personal data… (A&W and Uniqlo have free wifi.)
Two thumbs down: the CF Mall gift certificates. Do not buy them. The mall will charge you a fee to “activate” them (this was true as of December 2022). You’ll have to download their app or use their website to check the balance, which might be difficult if you’re at the mall (bad reception, lame wifi service and name-only guest service). And not all stores’ point-of-sale systems can deduct the mystery remainder balance automatically if it’s less than your bill - instead they fail to go through and you’ll have to just use your card or cash anyways... And the cards expire (not the balance, but the physical card. And you’ll have to get in touch with CF customer service to figure it out.)
Luckily, Decathlon’s payment system can actually do math and let you use up the remaining balance, so 5 stars for Decathlon.
2.5 stars for CF Markville though. Just save all your money and go to any mall in Japan.
All jokes aside, there are good stores and businesses inside the mall, but the mall needs to step up to provide a better experience for the people who take the...

Review:
CF Markville Mall consistently delivers an excellent shopping and leisure experience. Located conveniently at Highway 7 & McCowan in Markham, it's easily accessible with ample free parking (both covered and outdoor).
What makes Markville stand out:
Incredible Store Selection: Whether you're looking for high-end fashion, popular chains (Zara, H&M, Uniqlo), tech (Apple), beauty (Sephora), or everyday essentials (Walmart, Hudson's Bay), this mall truly has it all. The recent additions and renovations keep the mix feeling fresh and exciting. Spacious & Spotless: The mall is immaculately clean and well-maintained. Even on busy weekends, the wide corridors prevent it from feeling overly cramped. The recent renovations have created a bright, modern, and airy atmosphere. Top-Notch Food Options: The Dining Terrace is a huge upgrade! Offering a fantastic variety of cuisines – from quick bites to sit-down restaurants like The Pickle Barrel – there's something delicious for every taste and budget. Much better than a typical food court! Family Friendly: Great amenities include clean restrooms, family washrooms, comfortable seating areas, and easily accessible elevators/escalators. It feels like a comfortable place to spend a few hours. Efficient Management: The mall always feels safe, well-organized, and the staff (both mall personnel and store staff) are generally helpful and courteous. Events and seasonal decorations add to the pleasant atmosphere.
Whether I'm running errands, meeting friends for lunch, indulging in some retail therapy, or just escaping the weather, CF Markville is my go-to destination in Markham. It's easily one of the best-managed and most enjoyable malls in the Greater Toronto Area. Highly...
