30 plus years we have been visiting this York Region mall... never ever again!
We have patronized several of the mall stores like Toys2 , watch repair, and many many of the excellent food proprietors in the unique food court.
Stopped in to pick up from two of our favorites Yan Cooks and the little Japanese sushi shop in the corner...really outstanding food and people.
I took the time to complete the on-line survey on my phone before arrival and wore my face covering as per York Region recommendations although I am medically exempt! Greeted the 3 staff at the entrance with Hello and showed my phone "pass"... and carried on.
I grey shirted security guard came literally running up behind me yelling. I stopped turned and he kept yelling about my hands and the weird head srceening devices at the front. One of my medical conditions is an aversion to being in close proximity to others and not liking to touch or be near unsanitary objects. I replied that under the YR directive I was good to go... and kept walking to the food court he aggresively ran at me and I jump side stepped or he would have collided with me... I told him I was not using an unknown liquid in a bottle on any part of my person , I was not going anywhere near a device that many many folk had been in close contact with and that I was NOT sick as per the survey and that HE KEPT GETTING FAR TOO CLOSE and to step back at least 2 metres...
I proceeded and this time he attempted to grab my shoulder...btw I am a senior and he was at least 20 years my junior. I told him to stay away from me..well away and stop trying to assault me...
The irony being that I obviously felt safe entering this mall to buy food prepared by people there, support independent business and leave promptly. He literally had a wide eyed vicious look of a psychopath relishing this event and chomping at the bit...sick sick man! A disgrace to all and violator of our Charter of Rights and both the Ontario and York Region directives.... never ever will I go near this place again. Considering filing a suit against this man and the...

I went to this plaza so many times, mostly it was for Go Place, shopping, entertainment grocery and restaurants. I have never came in First Markham Place until 2 weeks ago. On that day my friends and I wanted to go to different destinations but it turned out in the same address. And to be completely honest, it was love as first sight ❤️ I loved the color, the calm atmosphere even the sellers & customers. The sellers didn’t seem to push and very kind in explaining stuff (I don’t speak Chinese) The vibe is nostalgic and bright. I almost got a little bit of everything. A mukbang. Sometime I got anxiety in place where people speak foreign language or do some hectic moves with the calculation or money. I completely felt serene here. The food is about 6-8/10 if you ask me. Some stalls offer truly great cuisine whereas some are only doing okay. I won’t say it here 😉 Overall this FMP provides quite a variety of goods, products & food. I would suggest you try Eggette, Frutti Mix (their pear ice w/kiwi is my fav), BBQ (both stores) has juicy chicken and roasted pork. The place seems to have solid customer base. On Sunday there was a very long line of customers waiting to be served…
Sometime it doesn’t matter where you eat or what you consume, though these are important at times. Sometime you just want to feel the vibe and take all in, a part of the experience, where all is one and one is all. I found that in FMP when I...
Read moreFirst Markham Place (FMP) is a great mall that many people in Toronto love. It's especially popular for its amazing food options.
The food here is really, really good. The food court has lots of different Asian foods to try. You can get Korean, Chinese, and Japanese dishes that taste just like they do back in Asia. Outside the mall, there are 23 more restaurants where you can sit down and enjoy a nice meal.
The mall has pretty much everything you might need. There are over 170 stores and places to get stuff done. You can find fancy glasses stores with big brand names, and even some winter jackets that might be copies of expensive brands (but don't tell anyone I said that!). It's like a smaller, less busy version of Pacific Mall.
Just so you know, parking can be a bit hard sometimes. When it's lunchtime or dinnertime, the parking lot gets super full.
Its a really fun place to visit. It feels like a little piece of Asia right here in Toronto, but it's not as crowded as some other Asian malls. The food is so good that people come from all over just to eat here. Whether you want to eat, buy stuff, or just hang out, this mall has it all.
Btw, they officially open at 10 but most stores don't open...
