Really tasty shengjian bao! And all made fresh!
My first time inside first markham place in over a year and happened upon this place when looking for lunch.
The shengjian baos has a nice crisp bottom and a doughy, but not overly chewy dumpling wrap. You bite in and you get that nice soupiness sitting inside. Not overly juicy but you still get that good amount of juicy savoury squirt.
Love that you can see them workin and wrapping the dumplings and baos so you know it’s made fresh daily!
The logo is really eyecatching and makes you want to buy something!
Service is great too! Very quick and order given within proposed time. As well, they had a nice amount of customers but exactly knew my order as I went to pick it up.
Will definitely be back to get more shengjian baos from here!
Great job overall!

Read moreDecided to try out this new place at First Market Place's food court as I saw how busy it was. There's a selection of things to pick from congee, buns and dumplings. We went for the King of Shenjian Bao (5.99 for 4 pcs) and Juice Pork Steamed Buns (6.99 for 8 pcs) which is basically a xiao long Bao.
Wow! The King of Shenjian Bao was super juicy as when we bit inside, juice was coming out! The xiao long baos were very juicy as our takeout spoon couldn't even contain it all! I was surprised how fresh and juicy everything was despite being only a food court restaurant. I definitely will return for more!
TIP: If you could, eat in as take out took us at least 20+ min wait. Also, eating this can get very messy, so try to have a table to eat this on...
Read moreMy mom was craving Seng Jian bao and I usually go to Sang Ji at Yonge and Finch. This place was recommended on Google and would work better for my schedule that day, so I drove over to First Markham Place at around their opening time to get them. The Seng Jian bao were okay, the meat was a bit mushier than what I'm used to. The big problem were the buns that I also got. I got two each of the pork with Cabbage, vegetable with egg and noodles, and the traditional pork with green onion. The meat had an awful taste to it. It was like a sewage smell and I couldn't even finish those meat buns. I didn't dare give it to my mom The vegetable buns were okay. Seng jian bao were also okay, I would give those two 2/5. Would have rather driven farther to go...
