Urban Nature Store — Attraction in Markham

I was having trouble with a couple of robins. They decided that my car would make a great place for their nest. After a bit of research I learned that I could put up a nesting box for them and they would use it and stop pooping all over my car. This is how I ended up at the Urban Nature Store in Markham. They have lots of products. Bird feeders, houses, a large variety of seeds and a bunch of pretty nature things for decoration and gifts. I bought my nesting box, brought it home and put it up. That's another story but I do now know where the saying "bird brain" comes from. I did want to talk about the lovely man working at the store. I can't remember his name, if I ever knew it. He is just delightful. Knowledgeable and interesting. I've always wanted to feed the birds but had a fear of attracting mice and even rats. I now know that there are a lot of options available in seeds, feeders and accessaries. You can discourage and totally stop the problem. It's rare to find a store like this in our modern times. It's the kind of place where folks with similar interests can hang about and share knowledge and stories.
