Little Bangkok Thai in Markham is more than just a restaurant; it’s an immersive, remarkable experience that instantly whisks you away the moment you walk through the door. The ambiance is incredible, making you feel truly transported to another place.
The atmosphere is set by the breathtaking decor, starting with the beautiful twinkly lights on the ceiling that cast a warm, soft and romantic glow over the entire dining room. The attention to detail is exquisite, extending to the impeccable artwork and sculptures on the walls. From the thoughtful layout of the restaurant and comfortable seating arrangements to the small, elegant touches, like the beautiful, fresh flower rose in the center of the table, every element works in harmony. The beautiful decor makes you feel less like a guest and more like royalty for the day. Whenever I bring company here they're incredibly impressed by everything about this restaurant.
Adding to this perfect atmosphere is the truly incredible staff. As a small, family-owned women's business, the team is so attentive, kind, and sweet; you genuinely feel the love and warmth, which makes the service impeccable.
But the food is where the real magic happens. This is, without a doubt, my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. To start your meal, the Appetizer Assortment is highly recommended—it's the perfect way to sample their delicious offerings. Every dish is made with skill and vibrant flavors. Their selection of drinks is also outstanding—the Thai Iced Tea is truly to die for, and their Longan Iced Tea is simply divine. I absolutely rave about their signature dishes: the Cashew Nut Chicken is perfectly balanced, the Green Curry with Shrimp is rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying, and their classic Pad Thai is simply unparalleled.
Little Bangkok Thai consistently delivers a perfect fusion of beautiful setting, phenomenal food, and heartfelt service. I couldn't recommend it highly enough—it is a true...
Read moreThis is the second time after having a so-so experience years ago at dinner, I thought I’d give lunch a try. It was another huge disappointment. The Cashew chicken had 3 pieces of tiny cashews and a weird tasting orangey sauce. The Siamese shrimp, which was a $15 dish, was a complete disaster. The plate was small, which is fine if it was good quality, but it was 90% raw onion, red and green peppers. We debated if the shrimp was even cooked as the texture seemed off. I had to send the whole dish back for them to cook it again. You would think the server might say sorry or something to acknowledge your dissatisfaction? Nope. The menu description claimed the dish was cooked with ‘traditional Thai sauce’ which was a farrrrr stretch. I worked in a Thai restaurant with real Thai chefs in the kitchen and the two dishes we had were definitely not authentic! What a waste of $30.
My advice if you are thinking about trying this place would be this; go to the No Frills down the street, get some processed Thai sauce in a jar, chop up tons of onion and peppers, add some frozen shrimps, then half cook everything and your dish would taste better...
Read moreMy sister and I ordered takeout, and our verdict is that it's not bad, but not great Thai food. Overall felt that seasoning was just a bit lacking in comparison to what we expect for Thai cuisine.
Mango sticky rice: 4/5 Highlight of the meal. Mango was ripe and went very well with the coconut sticky rice.
Tom yum soup: 3.5/5 Not bad, though sweeter than I'm used to tom yum soup being.
Tamarind curry (we paired it with the coconut rice): 3/5 Flavour was not bad but it was much sweeter than I was expecting, and the potato chunks were either cut too large for their cooking time, or they had undercooked them. There was a crunch biting into them, and since they were cut so large, it just didn't feel like it fit in texturally with the rest of the curry. Would have said it was a 3.5 if not for the potatoes.
Thai basil fried rice (with chicken): 2.5/5 Compared to other fried rices I've had at Thai restaurants, it just seemed to lack seasoning? It was one of those 'okay, but probably wouldn't reorder' type of dishes. Couldn't really make out the...
