Jackie Parker Park is a great destination for an afternoon outing to get some hints of nature in the city, a well built playground that is reminiscent of nature for kids to have fun in the cooler times and an enjoyable water play park on the hotter days. A bookable hall is available with bathrooms publicly available all year long. In the winter months there is a large skating area installed for everyone's enjoyment.
Well lit, plenty of parking, with quite a few picnic park benches with fire pits so you can enjoy your outing, no matter the time of year.
If you love dogs or have one, there is a large off leash area that is very popular with the canine crowd, with trails to explore in the immediate vicinity.

Excellent for young children but if you like a quiet and more privacy go to river valley. Here the BBQs, playground, spraypark, lake(small crafts access), washroom, parking and small field are all small legs walking distance.
