Távora Foods — Attraction in Mississauga

Due to the circumstances that we are all living in at the moment, I had seen an ad on facebook for home delivery from Tavora Foods in Mississauga. So I decided to give it a try. Although they don't have a web site like some of the major chain grocery stores, they took my order over the phone but you can also email your order in. The employee who answered the phone was so helpful and courteous. She took my order told me that delivery would be next day. When the order was filled she called me to let me know how much everything was, if there was anything missing and what time the delivery would arrive. Delivery person was prompt and friendly. The prices for meat, poultry and fish were good but the quality is what surprised me. The fish was delivered on ice and really fresh! The cuts of meat were excellent. The quality of the fruits and vegetables was really good and fresh. There again the prices were really good. I had never shopped at this store before but will definitely be shopping here in the future!! I hope the owners realize and appreciate what great staff they have working for them! Thanks to all the staff working here and providing their services so we can still get food delivered!

I went to the fish shop and the fish displayed in the window was all fresh and of good quality and I asked the lady who was in the fish shop for 6 fresh pouts. The lady told me that she was going to get the pouts from a box that were bigger, but I hadn't asked her for bigger or smaller. She weighed the fish and cleaned it without showing me. when she handed me the bag with the clean fish I saw that this fish was not as fresh as the fish that was exposed to the customer. I politely told the employee that I didn't want that fish, she asked why and I told her that the fish was not as fresh as the fish I asked for. The employee became rude and started talking badly about Portuguese people, and this employee is Portuguese and works for a Portuguese company which becomes shameful for this employee. For me this Tavora is the best of all, the employees from the other sectors have always been very kind and friendly, I always enjoyed shopping at this store but unfortunately I was lucky that the fish sector employee was kind enough to choose the least fresh...

Excellent Portuguese supermarket. Produce is good quality and about on par with big box budget grocery store prices, a fully manned deli counter and Butcher shop offer excellent quality meats and cheeses, including several varieties of Portuguese sausage and imported cheeses. They even have a separated sea foods counter offering fresh fish including salted cod, eel and octopus as well as more mundane fish varieties. The dry goods include most of the stakes from neighborhood grocery stores but add a bunch of European brands you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

Parking is available at the front and along the side and back. Not as large as many lots on the area but I've always manned to find a spot. The connected bakery has an awesome selection of fresh baked breads and euro pastries including some of the best custard tarts in the city.
