Would be so much better to walk here if the cyclists were more relaxed and didn't treat the promenade like it was only built for them.

The spandexed cyclists have tantrums if you frustrate their right to speed Except for this stressful hazard, its a pleasant walk on sunny days- my favourite are the abandoned silos and other iconic sights that even though (and because of) their run-down appearance, give a special charm to this area.

A pretty place to spend a relaxing morning or afternoon. My family and I rented the Bixi bikes for one hour ($1.55 to unlock + about $0.20/minute for each bike) and then sat by the water for a picnic. There are benches and picnic tables available so you can eat and people watch. Very popular place for joggers and bikers. Although we did not use the service, there are pedalo and boat rentals available. Would return.

I very much enjoy walking along this canal here in Montreal. You could spend the whole day here because it’s obviously quite long and very scenic with lots of nice pit stops along the way. Lots of little green spaces and walkways to cross over to the other side. The best pit stop is the Saint Ambroise Terrace which is a fun place to have a pint or lunch. It’s never boring. 👍😎
