Nice little cafe in the neighborhood. The drinks are really good. The hojicha is slightly sweet and the decaf lattes are strong and delicious. They have oat and soy milk substitutes by the way. The cafe is best for a chat, reading, or quick cafe or dessert pickup but not so fit for long work or study. Not sure if they have wifi?? The cake we tried was the red velvet with apple and it was tastiest at the center, the surrounding bread wasn't as soft and sweet as expected and it's quite pricey. It did seem like the milk or cream quality was good though. I also didn't taste much apple. Overall it was OK. Service was interesting. It seemed sort of nice but also the lady was multitasking and not focused on our experience but rather getting something else done. She was quite helpful when we asked a question but did seem a bit annoyed that we were talking our time to explore the shop. There was also no one else there so no excuse if it being busy. If service leveled up or the bakery recipe levelled up they could get another start from me, but right now the appeal is in the ambiance...

Ayoye!
I'd been wanting to try this address for a while, and the reviews were very good and the photos attractive.
I went there today in the hope of paying with vouchers received in a contest organized by the SDC Monk in December 2023 (we are currently at the beginning of February 2024)
I arrived and the place was full (only 3 mini tables), so I decided to get some takeaway.
Not seeing the prices of the cakes, I ask the saleslady and tell her I'll pay with my vouchers.
Things got complicated at that point. She switched to English because she had trouble with French. Then she had to ask her colleague if she could accept my vouchers. This was followed by a discussion on whether or not they could accept them, as they didn't know if there really had been a contest (2023 Christmas contest - advertised on the Well and internet). (Paramour is a member of the SDC, they should have been aware...)
Anyway, in the end I was able to leave with my cakes (Tiramisu; chestnuts and pear-jasmine). Everything was excellent, airy soft, fresh and full of flavors. Their reputation in this area is excellent!
In short, apart from the imbroglio of vouchers, lack of price tags, kind of mistrust and lack of of French, it's relatively positive. The cakes are wow, but especially the...
Read moreA hidden gem that’s as warm and inviting as the delicious treats they craft.
Their pastries are all handmade by the chef. Their roll cakes are inspired by classic Asian flavours such as matcha, yuzu, jasmine, oolong and more. We tried the matcha x yuzu and the Hokkaido cheesecake, both of which turned out to be a symphony of flavors. They were light, velvety, and subtly sweet.
And then there was the madeleine au café. I can’t even begin to describe how delicious it was—with just the right balance of coffee flavor and sweetness. It was the kind of treat you want to savor slowly, but you can’t help but finish in one sitting because it’s just that good.
What’s more, the owners made us feel completely at home, adding a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. I can’t wait to...
