We discovered Abhiruchi after trying their Chicken Ghee Roast Biryani via delivery and liked it so when we saw the restaurant, we decided to visit it in person. Tucked away below street level, you're welcomed into a nice space with seating for around 20 guests. The ambiance is simple but comfortable, with an emphasis on the food. We were warmly greeted and served by Komal, who was genuinely attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the experience more personal and welcoming. We started with the Chicken Manchow Soup, a light and flavorful dish that captured the essence of Indo-Chinese cuisine beautifully. The broth had distinct notes of ginger and garlic, balancing warmth and spice without being overpowering. A perfect way to start the meal. For the mains, we ordered the Chicken Ghee Roast paired with Biryani Rice. It was definitely an appetizer that needs to be paired with something. The chicken was rich, aromatic, and packed with flavor and cashews added a nice richness. The biryani rice was well-cooked, with each grain distinct and a great complement to the bold spices of the ghee roast. What stood out was the portion size and pricing. The servings were generous, and for the quality, the price point offers excellent value for money something increasingly rare in the city. Overall, thus is a fantastic spot if you're missing or craving bold Indo-Chinese flavors in Montreal. We recommend it for anyone seeking authenticity, value, and warm service. Just a small suggestion to the kitchen go a bit easier on the oil and salt, and the food will go from great to unforgettable.

I have been eating at Abhiruchi for a while now since I'm very much fond of their biryanis (which remind me of home) but my last few experiences have been extremely unpleasant. Last month I went there to dine in with my friends and there was a dreadful smell at the restaurant we were unable to dine in as the smell was too strong but we thought it could be the aftermath of pouring rain we got a day before and since the restaurant is situated underground the drainage can be funky sometimes however, today we went again with a plan of dining in but we were greeted by the same bizarre smell AGAIN! We decided to get a take-out this time but I’m still unsure if I would ever even takeout from a place that stinks like 😵‍💫💩?!!! On top of all this charade, we found not one but 2 pieces of animal bone in our Paneer 65 biryani. I eat white meat which is why I can confirm it was a bone however my partner is a pure vegetarian and he ate that biryani!! Totally absurd! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO EAT THERE SPECIALLY IF YOU’RE VEGETARIAN AND LOVE EATING IN A PLEASANT AMBIANCE.

As many of my followers know, I like trying new restaurants. Especially if they are close to home. My husband and I have been trying different Indian restaurants that represent different regions in India. This one has food from Southern India. The menu, like the restaurant, is small but with a few Southern dishes. The balance is like every other Indian restaurant. The Southern ones are a must try. Spicy but very flavorful. When ordering, you must let the waitress know the spice level of your dishes. If you are not sure what to order, just ask. The waitress was quite knowledgeable. We ordered a Chicken Tikka Masada, a Chicken Biryani, Goat Curry, a Mango Lassi, and one Naan. The best dishes, by far, were the goat and the biryani. The only gripes we had were that all our dishes did not come at the same time and that the Lassi was served in a plastic cup. Would we go back? Definitely. Because it is in a residential area, parking can be tricky. Make a reservation because there are only 7 tables.

Abhiruchi South Indian Restaurant is a culinary gem that has truly captured my heart with its exquisite flavors and warm hospitality. Every visit to this delightful eatery has been a journey through the rich and diverse tastes of South India, leaving me eagerly anticipating my next visit.

The biryanis at Abhiruchi are nothing short of spectacular. Each one is a masterpiece in its own right, meticulously prepared with fragrant basmati rice, aromatic spices, and perfectly cooked proteins. The Chicken 65 Biryani is a standout, offering a perfect blend of spiciness and tanginess that dances on the palate. The Abhiruchi Chicken Dum Biryani, with its slow-cooked, tender chicken pieces and subtly spiced rice, is an indulgence I can never resist. The Abhiruchi Paneer Biryani is a delightful vegetarian option, featuring succulent paneer cubes that melt in your mouth, harmoniously balanced with the flavors of the spices.

Beyond their exceptional biryanis, Abhiruchi's Butter Chicken with Naan is a revelation. The butter chicken is rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice that pairs beautifully with the soft, fluffy naan. Each bite is a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authenticity and quality.

The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting, and the staff is always courteous and attentive, making every meal a delightful experience. Abhiruchi South Indian Restaurant has become my go-to spot for savoring authentic South Indian cuisine, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly memorable...

I have ordered twice from this restaurant.

My first order was a takeout and I had a hair present in the top most layer of my biryani.

In the second order, I decided to dine in the restaurant. After a 45 minute commute from my home in winter, I was shocked to be served a COLD biryani inside. I brought this to the attention of the owner Vamsi but he avoided it and instead made me speak to his colleague Bhargav inside. This man Bhargav was anything but apologetic and was saying that it is difficult to please me and that I will be served HOT biryani ONLY on my next visit. He also said that the biryani is prepared at 5 PM and I cannot expect it to be warm when I am dining in at 9 PM. He even added that this is common in Montreal…

So their resolution for serving you cold food when dining in is asking you to come another time instead of fixing the problem NOW !?

Unbelievably poor treatment and attitude. I really can’t believe that you guys fail to serve hot food especially when dining in and have the cheek to say you will fix this on the next order ! Also, please don’t say that this is common across Montreal because no one serves cold food and says they will fix it on the...
