This is mainly a one-level, medium-sized mall that is quiet, clean, friendly and wheelchair accessible. It is flanked on all sides by a very large community of seniors, who frequent it's food court, restaurant, coffee shops, banks, stores, and healthcare clinic from 7am (even though the Mall does not officially open until about 9:30 am) to 7pm. There are plenty of couches, benches and tables / chairs for relaxing, to enjoy a coffee, read the paper or socialize with friends. It also provides a good, free walk-around for exercise on carpeted floors, which is particularly useful during periods of inclement weather. To the left is Sears (which may close), and to the right is Loblaws, where many often end up shopping before / after their spell at the Mall. The highlight here is that seniors can have their groceries delivered for $5 and others for $8, Monday to Saturday inclusive, up to 4pm. Security is present and, if there is an emergency, the ambulance is normally there within five to ten minutes, to drive to the Civic Hospital, about 15 minutes away. Behind the Mall is an Ottawa Public Library. Moreover, on the opposite side of Carling Avenue is another small shopping centre, Fairlawn Plaza, composed of a Shopper's Drug Mart, Staples, Bulk Barn, Swiss Chalet, Beer Store, LCBO, as well as a Starbucks up the street. So . . . altogether, the area comprises a large selection of store choices to satisfy basic needs. Also, the area is particularly busy from 4-7pm, when people drop in for quick visits on their way home from work. Parking on both sides of Carling Avenue is free for shopping purposes, and there are a reasonable number of bus routes to choose from. Additionally, there is an increasing number of mothers with babies and young children starting to shop at Carlingwood Mall. The area may, therefore, become a little more upbeat in the future with, for instance, such stores as Roots, Victoria's Secret, Gymboree, a newspaper outlet that sells the Wall Street Journal and...

Read moreThe Mall only marketing towards older adults.
Rent, for any kind of business here, MUST be unsustainable. For the last 8-10 years, there's been no new stores. The center's lack in variety as much as it's lack in diversity isn't right for 2022. Majorly disproportionate availability in younger adult geared fashion. Actually, one of the only businesses part of the category is: Ardenes. Located on the mall's lower level, it will most likely be a big hit for patrons because of it's large square footage...And an even bigger MISS, for its lack in available merchandize!
Items sold here are EXPECTED to be; .Out of stock (Staff/head office doesn't order required quantities)
.Stock not/never received. (Failure to provide the ordered stock from franchise warehouse)
.No stock for popular sizes Small-Medium in all styles. (Failure by company to recognize important sale statistics)
The food court will leave you feeling regretful and potentially make you choice-nervous for a few weeks afterwards!
Although the mall has a good/long lasting cleaning crew, the cleanliness of this facility's takeout restaurants SHOULD be just as high on the owner's priorities.
Customer service has gone out the door and most of the employees in here either hate their job, hate their lives, hate themselves or they hate other humans in general or even all of the...
