There’s a fantastic bronze statue of the amazing Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Peterson that was unveiled in 2010. It’s a lovely historical landmark right at the corner of Elgin and Albert streets in Ottawa, just outside Canada’s National Arts Centre.

The statue is life-sized and shows Peterson sitting on a bench next to a piano, wearing a warm smile. What’s really neat is that there’s even a spot for visitors to sit right next to him!

This statue is definitely one of my favorites in Ottawa. I absolutely love the lifelike details, and it's so much fun to hear the non-stop audio of his beautiful songs playing from this sculpture. It truly is a wonderful addition to...

#casalconhecendoomundo recomenda @casalconhecendoomundo...

On the corner of Albert st and Elgin st you will find a statue honoring the great Canadian jazz musician, Oscar Peterson. He was known as "the king of inside swing" and had released over 200 recordings and won 8 Grammys. If you listen closely by the statue you can even hear this great pianist tickle the ivory keys from one of his songs. So why not take a photo with him and celebrate life...
