RIP-OFF!! I am a 69 year old retired orthopedic surgeon, living in Quebec, near Ottawa and my experience with your group has been abysmal at best...I am generally healthy, but was in need of an overdue general work-up, which almost unavailable in Quebec, at least where I live, so I decided to test the private waters on the Ontarian side...the pre-visit labs and tests were fine, and in order...the 2h medical consult was another story...110 minutes of talking, 10 minutes of exam, and then a bunch of unnecessary or premature tests ordered. Carotids were not auscultated but an echo was ordered, stress test was not performed (lack of time!) but a heart angio-ct was ordered, fibroelasticity test of the liver, which has no therapeutic value, was ordered at the same time as an abdomen ct (this one makes sense),colonoscopy was ordered but when i finally reached a human voice at the facility after weeks of trying (it was the receptionist btw who knows as much about colonoscopy as the janitor!), i was told the delay was probably because i was calling from a quebec (!!!) and finally a urology consult was asked for (that was my main reason for the visit) and never occured....at the end of it all i was told i had wax in my ears and had to come back for a cleaning!! $3450.00?? Really? Since then, I was seen in California, where I used to live and be treated, and they were all appalled to hear this...they thought that the private medical sector would at least be marginally better than the deplorable public health care system, but i know after wasting $3,450 (it would have been much more if the ill-advised test had been done), that this is not the case. I understand business is business and you need to feed your consultants and imaging buddies...nothing wrong with making money while providing care, but one without the other doesn't work well...in my personal, but educated, opinion, this borders on malpractice, ethical if not (?) medical...those who have enough money to afford your "services" should also be smart enough not...
Read moreI have been a member of La Vie Executive Health Centre for a few years, always very happy with their professionals and facilities. I was offered the Weight Management Program about 4 months ago and I have to say, it is fabulous!!! For the past 8 years I have been trying to lose the weight I gained after quitting smoking with no results. Now, due to a knee problem I have to lose weight to help with the pain. This weight management program came at a perfect time. I have to say I am very, very happy with the results. It is a comprehensive program with hard scientific data. The guess work is out, the science is in. The life style changes are happening and I'm not suffering by weighing, measuring and counting. The Endocrinologist, the Dietician (Erika) the nurses and the coordinators have been absolutely fantastic .The pounds are coming off, most importantly I feel stronger, more energetic, positive and happier in general. Thank you to all the fabulous Team of...
Read moreI always enjoy my visit to La Vie but today's was exceptional. I arrived ahead of my appointment schedule. When Dr. MonPetit was informed that I had arrived, and she was done with the patient before me, she came out of her office to warmly welcome me. Though I was anxious before coming to the clinic, her warmth and hospitality made me so relaxed before we started discussing the reason why I was there. I really appreciate the way you make your patients feel relaxed and the patience to listen to them. The atmosphere was also filled with soft and soothing Christmas jingles with very nice christmas decorations. Indeed, Dr. MonPetit is a wonderful Doctor and makes you feel at home to express whatever concerns you have. God bless Dr. MonPetit abundantly. The rest of the staff, just to mention a few, Amina, Samantha and the wonderful lady at the reception of 100 Queens Street have been amazing. MERRY CHRISMAS AND A HAPPY NEW...
