Did not want to write this review but for other POC you should probably be aware this place was where I experienced the most number of consecutive racist things in all of Trenton. From the staff to the patrons, it is not a safe place, if you have kids probably don't bring them here to be harassed or witness your harassment. If you are a POC go with a non POC person at the least. Felt like a sundown town-blank stares, rude remarks, whispering and giggling to loud heckling outside, all while white customers are treated with courtesy and even niceness so you can feel the difference even more. I was even 'bumped into' with no apology, just stares, a couple times by teenagers and adults all while out with my young daughter. It is terrible that this still happens in 2023 and I don't love leaving negative reviews on a small business. But perhaps this will incite change or at the very least keep POC from an unexpected negative experience. Sidenote: I am experiencing more racism in Trenton this year than any of the previous 3 years...
Read moreDuring my times at this movie theatre, it's always been the same; providing the best movie entertainment there is on Trenton, and one of my favorite movie theatres to go to. The snacks and prices in this movie theatre are very affordable, compared to big cinema places in Toronto, so you don't need to smuggle your own snacks. The theatre is very clean and tidy, with the seats being just as comfortable to relax on. Sleep on it, and you can pretty much sleep through an entire movie.
If you want to look for an excellent place to view those movies, definitely worth going to see this theatre here. It has its flaws of not being up to date with the sound quality and a bit uneven flooring, so you'll be seeing the movie from the back of people's heads. However, it's worth it,...
Read moreThe selection of films coming to this little independent theatre is pretty good for a small town. Since it has been taken over by new owners, the prices have increased on tickets and concessions, and the teenage staff don't seem to know what customer service is.. or even what show plays the matinee (there are only three rooms!).. Overall, it's still more affordable than the Cineplex, and its nice to know you're supporting a local business; and that some people still think it's worth having a little theatre in a little town. Personal side note: I dearly miss the historical photographs of the original one-room structure with the story of the theatre on the wall...
