SkyPark Regina — Attraction in Regina

• this is a long rant but if you’re a parent planning a birthday party here, or a stop with your kids.. worth a quick skim!

If I had come to see the honest reviews here I may have saved myself some time and frustration. I called a couple weeks ago to ask some questions and inquire to see if we needed a reservation to come play on the Soft-structure and mini-golf with my 2 toddlers for a small birthday party.

Over the phone I was assured there were no reservations and it was a first come first serve policy, and the employee said weekends were busy and to come early. No mention of any issues with my plan to bring them on Saturday.

I also asked if we could purchase snacks from them and they assured me we could. The only rule with this is we couldn’t bring our own food due to Co-Vid protocols.

We arrive early on Saturday morning, shortly after open. We are told we can’t play on the Soft-Play as it is closed on weekends.. and we’re rudely told “it’s on the website” fine.. but your employee didn’t tell me this over the phone when I clearly stated my plans to bring my toddlers here specifically for this on the coming Saturday.

But we altered our plans and took our kids elsewhere to play, and I thought maybe still I would give them some of our business and bring the boys back to mini-golf. We come back about an hour later to see how long of a wait it will be, and there is kids playing on the soft structure!! So a little peeved I asked to speak to someone, with no real answers.. they avoided me and gave no explanation. As I was getting no where with the conversation, I asked again.. how long it would be for 2 adults and 2 toddlers to mini-golf and they said they didn’t know. Determined to let the little boys golf, I asked if I could bring them in to have ice cream and a snack while we wait.. and they said no, confectionary is closed. Right then, a kid walks by with an ice cream and a bag of chips.

I was in disbelief at how poorly ran this business is. I had only been here one other time last fall and the play structure was clean and fun for a quick day time play.. and I do understand Co-Vid has been stressful on such businesses. But teach your staff to give proper information on closures and rules. And also, it was obviously only open for people of their choosing.. put a sign on the door or tell me over the phone that everything is close for private function, you don’t get to pick and choose as people come in the door.

Won’t be coming back. I had some very disappointed little boys twice during one birthday party.. and it all could’ve been avoided by some informed staff. Regina has PLENTY of clean, well-ran indoor play places.. I would have chose more wisely...

We had a party booked. There had been a lot of misunderstanding between everything. Yes, we know the mistakes on our sides. It was our first time. We believed that things could have been explained better and in a more pleasant way. But what we are truly upset about is how the owner himself talked to us and my guest. His tone of voice was just so offensively impolite and rude. Considering it was a birthday party, all we wanted was to celebrate. BUT, the owner ruined it all. My sister cried the night of her birthday because she felt that she wasn’t welcomed at all considering she heard everything how that rude owner talked to us. First, the owner said we had brought in too many food. But really, it wasn’t that much. It was just some decorations and chafing dishes as we wanted our food warm. I have confirmed with them many times that it was okay to bring our own food. They confirmed it many times, “yes”. Maybe, be more specific about that. Clarify on the website or contracts or when I asked that only bite-size foods, appetizers, cakes, and cupcakes only allowed” before you say that customers can bring in their own food. All we did was brought in our kind of food. Secondly, we asked if we could book and pay for the other party room then if they were so worried about too many people in one room. The owner said NO, and said it’s already booked for later. We were there until almost 830pm but we never seen any other party except us. He was so worried about COVID restrictions but the place was already way too crowded and way too many people when we got there in the first place. Lastly, one thing that made me mad is when one of our guest and his kid went to play in the soft areas, the owner himself shouted at the one year old toddler and said to get away. The father of the toddler was right there. Who shouts at toddler like that who knows nothing?Just because we forgotten to give his wristband and was not put on his wrist, they were treated badly. Maybe talk nicer, at least don’t shout? This park is for kids to enjoy afterall. I really didn’t know what to say to my guest. All I felt was disappointment in myself because I choose this place to book my sister’s party. The business is a good one for sure, nothing like it in Regina. But, if he keeps talking to his customers like that, that’s the one thing customers will remember; how you made them feel. What you made us feel to this day, one day you will go through it all. I’ve never felt so upset, mad, and disappointed at the same time in my whole life. My whole extended family and extended relatives and friends will never set foot here, and to us who were there would never come...

I was planning this as the first stage in a party with a bunch of friends and was not impressed at all and will not be back. They quoted me the wrong price over the phone and gave bad information. They refused to make this right. I phoned and told them ahead that we had other reservations and needed to get in on time so we were not late. They would not take a reservation and took three times as long to get us in to go kart then what we were told. The only positive was they let us use the mini golf while we waited. They were not organized and the manager was rude to me and yelled at his staff a lot. While waiting for the go karts the staff that got us ready were rude, short tempered, and had no patience. Customer service was not felt at all. We were keeping quiet and not causing issues but were treated like we were on the last line. While we were there I did not see them following enough covid measures. They had a few things in place, but I do not see how they were able to open with the health restrictions needed for a place like this.
