The Meewasin Trail is a very popular trail for locals and tourists to visit and enjoy all year round. The meewasin Trail is over 105km on both sides of the river winding under bridges through many parks and natural areas. It is also part of the Trans Canada Trail and is popular for all sorts of activities such as cycling walking running hiking bird watching picnics photography and more. The trail is also very well marked and has a lot of information about its history and areas along it To me some of the more notable points you will come across while wondering along it are parks such as Kiwanis Park River Landing Victoria Park Gabriel Dumont Park the University of Saskatchewan and the weir, museums in Remai Modern Art Museum and the Children’s Museum, historical landmarks like the Bessborough Hotel and the Vimmy Memorial Bandstand. There is also many interesting sculptures and monuments as well as lookout or viewpoints with benches and green spaces to sit relax and take in the beauty here. I this is a brief overview of my experience of the Meewasin Trail as I have lived along it and near it pretty much my whole life. Please note and we ask that you don’t litter and that you throw your trash in one of the many trash cans along the trail. If you don’t see one at that exact moment you will come across on shortly, they are never that far away. We try and keep the trail and river valley clean and respectful for the wildlife living around it and all others using it.

Who wouldn’t love this network of trails that take you along the river and other nature spots around the city? Meewasin Trail is one of Saskatoon’s best features. Looking forward to possible national park status in the future.
