I came here to visit as last stop with my family after leaving Sooke and heading back to Victoria, BC.

It was pretty empty and quiet in the park. It is also very spacious with a good amount of seating. There is also a bathroom with art decorated on the outside. It seem like no much people come here often because there was an area by the stage that is suppose to be filled with water but it is empty.

There is a zig zag trail in the back of the park and leads you to be surrounded by trees. When you reach the end of this trail you would be surrounded by water! There you can birdwatch for eagles and seagulls.

The walk here was very relaxing and I love all the greenery. If you need a quiet walk in nature, this is the place to be!

FYI, the parking is about a block ahead of the park. The parking lot was very empty when we arrived and the same when we left. So it will be easy...

Great experience I recommend parking at the boardwalk taking the small (slightly steep) hill down. Walk up the pier and then down the boardwalk and up the switchback boardwalk into the Park - you then walk down the main street back to to The boardwalk entrance.

If hills can be an issue - take the park way all the way down (make sure you are starting at the park - washroom, big lawn, etc) and boardwalk down and out to the pier and come back that way.

In general a must visit in Sooke. Close to centre of town. Easy walk (with my elderly parents) and...

Great city park with a boardwalk trail down to the harbor with a very nice boardwalk pier. Harbor view was great and a clear view across the Juan de Fuca Strait to the Olympic Penninsula. Saw dozens of otters and a few bald eagles. Easy access from the main highway and mostly wheelchair accessible, there were a couple of steep declines. We thought we would just stop and spend a few minutes, and we ended up spending almost two hours. Well...
