Attended the building at Lester B. Pearson Park located in central St. Catharines with a view of examining the pay-as-you-go kids swimming lessons. There are two pools at this location. One is a warm temperature pool used for kids learning basic fundamentals of swimming on Sat. and Sun. Between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. It is also used as a theraputic pool for acquafit classes for seniors and others at various times as outlined in the St. Catharines Leisure Guide. You can get a brochure at the centre or it's available online. The larger pool is for lane, leisure and swimming lessons hours stated in the Guide. There are always qualified lifeguards present at all times and place is very clean and nice change rooms for men, women and families too. Showers are required before entering the pool. Tickets for drop in activities can be purchased at the counter in the lobby. Registration is required in advance for certified ongoing swimming lessons. It is advisable to register and pay early to guarantee a spot. In the same building to the left as you enter the building is a public library with a large selection of books, videos and computers on site. There are many activities going on in this building for all ages. The building is fairly new and there is free parking which is part of the park. On the grounds of the park is a large childrens' playground with splash pad in the Summer and public washrooms. Our family really enjoys this Park and have spent many...
Read moreI recently visited Lester B. Pearson Park in St. Catharines with my toddler, and we had an absolutely wonderful time! The play area is fantastic—perfectly designed for young children, with plenty of opportunities for both fun and learning. My toddler was especially fascinated by the educational elements woven into the play structures, which added an extra layer of engagement. The map play area was a hit, offering a unique and interactive way for little ones to explore.
The splash pad was truly the icing on the cake! It was a hot day, and my toddler had the best time cooling off and playing in the water. The park was clean, well-maintained, and had a friendly atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for families. If you're visiting St. Catharines with young children, I highly recommend spending some time at Lester B. Pearson...
Read moreLovely park with a playground, soccer fields, and nature area. The playground is almost always busy because it is such a large area for kids to play.
For young kids and families, the park features a splash pad and picnic pavilion alongside the play equipment. It is a great place to take the family on a summer day or when you just need to run off some energy.
The park also has soccer fields and a tennis area for recreational use.
If parking on the southern side, it might look like the park is just these areas, but there is actually a large area behind the tennis court where many people walk their dogs or go to enjoy nature. The partially wooded area leads into a larger field which would be great for playing Frisbee or other sports requiring...
