Tik Tak Shawarma and falafel — Restaurant in St. Catharines

Its easy to make a shawarma wrap taste decent when its all wraped together, which is why I always get a shawarma plate. You can better understand how good your shawarma actually is

First red flag was when I walked in, and there was no staff up front. Eventually, someone who appeared to be the manager (who was speaking on the phone), who upon seeing me, went in the back to get the cook. Ok, it happens.

Next, I noticed there wasnt a rotisserie... I wont say this is a red flag, because Ive had good grill cooked shawarma before, but thats more the exception than the norm, but not having it was a bit concerning.

Second red flag was when the cook gave me a pickled radish to try... over the counter, using the tongs. Im no health inspector, but Im pretty sure thats a violation. At least he did me a favour of not giving me a regular pickle, because those were awful imo.

Last red flag was when I got home and started eating. I ate about an 8th of the rice and chicken, and I just couldnt continue. The chicken was dry, the garlic sauce was weird, and the rice was flavourless. I didnt mind the salad, but its not a lot. I ended up throwing out the whole plate. and didnt touch the pickles.

The pickles started growing mold while sitting in its container in my fridge after 2 days. I threw them out, like I had the rest of my plate a few days prior. I will not...

During a trip with my parents, we had an incredibly delightful experience at this small local restaurant. The food was of high quality, fresh, and delicious. Even more than that, the warm hospitality and big smile of the restaurant owner made it a unique experience that became one of the memorable highlights of our trip.

We were welcomed with a warm greeting from the owner, and we had a lovely conversation about shared experiences and various ideas. They were very customer-oriented and made every effort to meet our needs, especially those of my elderly parents, with great generosity. We were treated to samples of their dishes and they were very fair with their pricing. شکراً اصدقاء !

I checked this place out finally as I live very close. Portion size is good, price is really good. The food is average, to a little above average. 2 things, their meat ( I had the beef shawarma plate) although very good and flavourful, was not the rotisserie style that you expect from a shawarma spot. It was cubed beef, therefore not my personal preference. Secondly, it seemed to me like the flavour was very mild in everything example, the garlic sauce could have been more garlicky, and the rice a little more flavourful.

The staff were very pleasant so I felt welcomed. I believe if you are new to shawarma, this would be a great place to go. I will return because I live close, but it would not be my first choice.
