Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre — Attraction in St. Catharines

I checked out Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre recently, and I’d give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars—it’s a great spot for sports lovers! The place has a real community vibe, with four NHL-sized rinks that were buzzing with hockey games and skating sessions. I loved watching the action, and the rinks were in great shape, which matches what I’ve heard about their upkeep. They’ve also got a decent concession stand; I grabbed a hot dog, and it was a perfect rink-side snack, though some folks online say the food options could be better. The staff were super friendly and kept things running smoothly, even with a decent crowd. It’s a big facility, so it never felt too packed, and the viewing areas were comfy for spectators. I’ve seen some mention that the parking lot can get chaotic during tournaments, but I got lucky and found a spot easily. The centre also hosts other events like fitness classes, which adds to its appeal for locals. My only gripe is that it could use a bit of a refresh—some areas felt a little dated. A 4 pad. A very nice complex of arenas and viewing areas. They have recreational skating and shinny hockey for the different age levels. I imagine on weekends throughout the winter, this place is packed with various hockey tournaments for all the boys and girls teams that play house league or competetive hockey. For guys 45 or over, looks like Thursday is the day 2 goalies show and a full turnout of 24 players. It's unfortunate they only schedule 2 days a week for 45 and over shinny but if there are no goalies, it's not as enjoyable. If you can keep up with the young-uns, there are other scheduled days for that shinny age group. And recreational skates daily for the avid skaters. Just received my 1st Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine. Apparently today is going to be their busiest day with over 2,000 shots being given. They are hoping at the end of today it'll be a hundred and twenty-five thousand vaccines administered in the city. I was there a few minutes early as my son had an appointment 10 minutes prior to me. That was not an issue for them at all. My appointment was for 11:20. I had my shot and was sitting for my 15-minute wait by 11:07. It ran very smoothly. They are very organized, they're not snarky at all (considering everything), everyone is so friendly and helpful it's incredible. They have 20 health care professionals administering the vaccines.
