Sail Superior Lake Superior Adventures & Sleeping Giant Sailing School — Attraction in Thunder Bay

My second time sailing with Capt Greg and this go around was just as memorable as the first. His passion for sailing is only eclipsed by his enthusiasm for sharing the beauty of Lake Superior with his guests. A proud Thunder Bay resident / native and experienced sailor. We will be back. Thanks for another wonderful trip!

Edit: Sail Superior is a must do if you are in Thunder Bay. This is my second time on the Superior Rocket. And I can tell you, this never gets old. Zipping across the water at 40 plus mph is amazing. This time we took the Rocket to Sawyer’s Bay and hiked up to the Head of the Sleeping Giant. The view is so worth the trip. Lots of photos and just soaking up the feeling of being alive and at peace. The next day we sailed on the newly arrived Welcome Cat. Again, the wind and water and slicing through the water, is just another wonderful experience. Quite the contrast to the Rocket and such a peaceful experience. Whatever your speed, Rocket or Sailing, Monohull or Cat, these are highly recommended. I set sail ⛵️ … last summer while in Toronto I decided to book a sailing adventure. I’ve seen and heard of Sail Superior via social media as well as a colleague of mine having also done this sailing tour a few years ago. She loved it and recommended me doing it, so I did !!!! First off, you board the sailboat and meet the crew, get the rules about safety and other information to help in the journey. Then you set sail into the harbour. The wind sure was on our side tonight because it was windy and cold but that made for awesome sailing conditions. Out of the harbour we went and came close to some huge ships that were there. What a cool experience seeing them up close and they are massive beasts !!! We also had the opportunity to see the Canadian Coast Guard vessel that was visiting Thunder Bay. It was a wonderful time talking to the crew and the other guests. If you’re in Thunder Bay or thinking about doing this sail … DO IT !!!! Wow, what a wonderful time! We did an overnight on the Welcome to Sleeping Giant and it was amazing! Greg and Jen kept in great communication leading up to the day of sail. Food on board was over the top! Jen prepared a menu that was unique and full of flavor, we loved everything and ate like royalty! Rodney did a fabulous job as our captain, he was very professional and informative. Josh guided us on a hike on Seeping Giant and was so considerate and friendly. You could tell the team all lived their job and had a passion for it. This was the highlight of our trip and highly recommend an overnight to really enjoy the boat, food and experience....
