Sandwiched between Morningside Park and Lower Highland Creek Park, the tree-topped Colonel Danforth Park stretches from the University of Toronto Scarborough campus to Lawrence Avenue East. Although the weather forecast wasn't sunny, we ended up spending the day at this park. It's lovely for a picnic spot. Lots of picnic tables and bbqs. The Highland Creek Trail that leads through the park continues into Lower Highland Creek Park before extending all the way to Lake Ontario. The trail follows closely beside the Highland Creek the entire way before it flows into the lake at the eastern end of the Scarborough Bluffs. Entry into the park is free. There are restrooms which were clean. A water fountain was also available by the restroom. Parking was not a problem, although a lot of folks showed up during the day.
