First I'll note the positives. Appointment for my early pregnancy ultrasound was easy to book. The tech was forthcoming with some info when questions were asked and the whole procedure went well/was professional.
Now, it seems like I'll be one of the first to be more critical of this clinic, but I feel that constructive criticism can and should be used to improve. I went into this ultrasound (being my second) hoping for a more human experience. My first (at another clinic) left me feeling very detached and not connected to the life growing inside of me. A simple "how are you, this is what we will be doing today and this is what I can and cannot share with you" should be commonplace at all ultrasound appointments for pregnancy. As the technician you are literally identifying life, and even if you've done it 10000 times, you should have respect for it and the person carrying it. Women feel so much anxiety going into these appointments, we really should be more a part of the experience. At E&R, I was not shown the screen at any given time, not even after a heartbeat was identified. I was not asked if I wanted to hear it. I'm sorry, but as a woman, if you were having a baby, would you not want to hear your baby's heartbeat for the first time? I understand that you have a job to do, but consider me after that job is done. On another note, there were two key areas that I asked about that should have been recorded so that my doctor could discuss them with me and they were not. Some other measurements were missed, when they didn't need to be. Overall my tech was not unkind, but she did not make the experience any more human than my last, and maybe my expectations are too high, but I feel like bedside manner really does make a difference in these situations. Maybe I have to be my own advocate in the future and demand a little more of a human experience. My partner was also not allowed in the room after being told her would be allowed at the end (due to it being a transvaginal ultrasound). I don't know if this is some kind of Ontario policy, but if I'm comfortable with you sticking a probe up there and having him in the room, I feel that it should be my choice, not yours. At the end of the appointment the tech simply left the room and I had to go find her afterwards. Communication was pretty lacking. We were sent a link with pictures, which while nice, is not the same as seeing the screen during the appointment. I now have to go for one more repeat ultrasound, due to a few things being missed during my last one here. I hope this review helps other women and their partners ask for better treatment, and I hope that the clinic can learn a little from my experience. It's a pretty standard clinic and the experience I had is probably not uncommon at many other clinics, but after reading so many 5 star reviews, I was really hoping for something stellar. My experience...
Read moreWorst experience, DO NOT GO HERE! I went for an ultrasound and the ultrasound technician did not provide any information regarding what she was doing and why When she finally let me view my baby the information she provided was contradicting to what was told to me at my previous ultrasound a week earlier ( at my regular clinic) Such as the fact that I was unable to hear my babies heartbeat. When I was already able to hear it at previous appointments. I will be reporting her. On top of the vague information she provided she told me to collect my information and ultrasound images at the front. When I got to reception the told me they do not provide/print images and that I would have to pay a feee to receive them electronically. I paid the fee against my better judgment and made the request. I asked when I can expect the images as I already was feeling uneasy about the lack of information I had already received and knew that they would take a while to send the results to my doctors office. So having the images would have put my mind at ease. I was assured I would receive them by end of day. As end of day approached and I had not received anything I called the clinic to inquire and was once agin told that if I don’t get them tonight I will receive them in the morning. It is now the next day still no images and the clinic is closed today which they failed to mention when promising me results the next day. If I would have known, I would have insisted further when I spoke to the front desk. Now I’m reading other patient experiences and it seems like it’s a pattern of neglect. As a new mom it is disheartening to not have your questions properly answered and your concerns addressed. It seems like this clinic is focused on volume they cannot handle for the sole purpose of profit.
Before I forget After calling this morning to figure out why I still have not received anything. I called multiple times with no answer and no machine messaging indicating alternate or holiday hours to inform the public they are closed as it it is not holiday and the hours they have listed signify they should be open. I looked up the number of the clinic next door. I had to call them where they were able to inform me that E&R was...
Read moreReceptionists are belligerent and Disrespectful. Owner Moe (who also owns Albion Islington Medical Centre) was offensive and Refused to provide us legally entitled copies of our reports. He was yelling at customers, threatening us if we complained about his bad service and evidenced Bully tactics. Doctors didn't answer our questions , and Refused to provide us our legally entitled reports. We were made to make Multiple visits for same issue. Apparently, the owner and doctors are interested in repeat billing from ohip cards, by clocking more visits from patients, and Abusing the system, and scamming for money. Washrooms were filthy. Complaing to the owner Moe (who refused to provide his last name, or complete name, I. E. No Unique Identifier, No professional accountability) is of no use. He evidenced Vindictive Reprisal and Intimidation against us.
Our phone messages were never returned. The phones were not answered during business hours. The voicemail box was "full " whenever we called. The receptionist kept repeatedly interrupting us, when we endeavored to answer her asked question. She Claimed that she was too busy to listen to us. We were placed on - hold for over 20 minutes, and then disconnected. Owner Moe and receptionist abruptly hung up on us , after making us wait indefinitely.
This owner Moe has demonstrated a Modus Operandi to become defensive and blame the customers with personal accusations which are baseless, in order to cover - up for his exhibited lapses, instead of proactively correcting the problems. And, then because he has complete disregard for professionally mandated patient welfare, he has been known to get false and fake positive reviews posted by his various cronies, using fake accounts. Evidently, the management only cares about money, and not about...
