Management is the ski program is a joke. My wife signed my daughter up for ski lessons running Feb. and Mar. In the lead up we where spammed with every email cancelation and bump of the all the other classes are having. It would stand to reasons if there were any issues we would have received notice the same way. Fast forward we receive a phone call requesting is to show up early for equipment fitting. We arrive first day early as requested, get her lift pass, register and even get fitted for equipment rentals. Then we are directed where to wait. And we wait... We wait equipment and all. After running 20 min past the start time I find a staffer figuring I mistook the meeting spot and after a few minutes waiting for someone on the radio I am informed the class is cancelled. After some more waiting I get the the program director s office to find out they left a voicemail late Friday to inform us there was cancellation. No response as to why email like all the other notices. When asked if I could get a lift pass and a set of rentals in compensation for the colossal waist of my time and the disappointment of my 7 year old to take her for a few runs, I was again told no there was nothing they could do. Shamelessly unprofessional with no respect for a clients/ customers time. I was left eating the smug attitude in the explanation that a late night last minute v-mail is good enough for them. Cupboard warrior tapping a pen on some worthless chicken scratch.

My only recourse was to walk up the dam hill in defiance and my running shoes to give my kid the runs she deserved. Pro tip the disgruntled staff don't check lift passes.

Do it right and go to any other outfit, staying away from this bottom of the barrow so called...

Earl Bales Park is a family 👪 friendly park. The area is so huge and full of playgrounds and trees. There are pathways to stroll around and small hills to climb. There is a newly built children's playground too with water faucets for children to play. There are huge parking areas as well. There is a mini amphitheater for some presentations. You can do barbecue in the area but you have to bring your own barbecue materials or basin. Barbecuing on the grounds is strictly prohibited in order to protect the green healthy grass and to avoid fire. And alcohol consumption is NOT allowed in the public place. And any illegal and anti social and anti Semitic activities are against the law and therefore strictly prohibited. The only disappointment is the lack of washrooms. If you find a spot during high season far from the washroom you need to walk to use it. I think that's the only downturn. Otherwise the park is free for all to visit and use for family fun. However, using and enjoying the beautiful Earl Bales Park is just a privilege NOT a right. Therefore, you need to help observe cleanliness and orderliness. And most of all RESPECT for other people, their space and their being. Clean up your area and bring your trash to the big bins provided nearby. Enjoyable sunny beautiful day on Canada Day indeed....

A really great park to check out in North Toronto. The park borders Bathurst Street and is just south of Sheppard. Very accessible by transit and by car and not to far from highway 401. There is plenty of parking and transit options available. However again, it does fill up quiet quickly so I recommend going early even to get parking. They have community events throughout the year and you can check out the community centre in the park for more information. Playgrounds, splash pad, an amphitheatre, dog off leash sections, picnic grounds and many trails can all be found here. They even have a ski and snowboard centre however based on the weather and Covid restrictions, you will need to check if this is in operation. I highly recommend going as early as you can in the warmer season for reserving picnic spots. It gets filled quiet quickly especially in the summer months. Permits may be needed for some activities so make sure to check with the city of Toronto for more information. My favourite part of the park is the wooden fenced trail over looking the pond. Check it out if you are in the North York area in Toronto.

This is a wonderful park that is enjoyed by locals and those from across the city. On my visit in the third week of October, there were long-distance city-wide races for the Toronto Separate School Board. At the same time, there were hikers and retired individuals enjoying snacks while feeding the squirrels. I noticed a squirrel that had a white tip on its tail. I heard of this genetic trait in the Leslieville area of Toronto. Now I'm wondering if its genetic or something else is causing it. The park has wonderful old trees that are beautifully dressed in fall colours this time of the year. You can see some leaves floating gently to the ground in my video. The giant fire pit was an unexpected surprise. Children were using the burnt wood charcoal to draw on the perimeter. I recommend a walk through the elaborate memorial monuments. This is a great park for an easy casual stroll, picnic date, outdoor exercise, or just yo relax and get rejuvenated while surrounded by nature.

Earl Bales Park was quite the hike today to be able to see everything. 127 acres park was built on farm land owned by John Bales, which later became York Downs Golf and Country Club in 1922. The land was saved from development after the sale of the club which relocated in 1969 to Unionville, Ontario and was turned into an urban park in 1975. Don Valley Golf Course is located to the east and south of the park. John Bales House, which dates back to 1824, was used as the greenskeeper's home from 1922 to 1969. The park is named for former Reeve of North York Township (1934-1940) Robert Earl Bales (and great-grandson of John Bales). The present ski hill unfortunately is closed during covid-19 but thrill seekers seem to still avoid the blocked off areas and in comes the police. The trails and wooded areas are very nice and great to walk around, hike of mountain bikes. Lots of free parking and lots of open areas to follow covid-19 rules.
