Spent the day as caregiver for two kids at Happy Kingdom yesterday! I was thrilled that I arrived early, stocked with water bottles and slip- resistant socks! I was able to avoid the line that later developed! I was required to use a tablet to fill in information on myself and the 2 children in my care. My phone number was written on each armband. We entered, removed our shoes and jackets and placed them in the numerous cubby holes provided. I walked around, examining the play structure, noting the step like seating area that was available for parents and caregivers to sit and observe playing children. The place was extremely busy so I had my children go to the fence and I went outside of the play area and met them so that they knew where to meet me for water breaks. I was able to sit comfortably on a barstool type chair and and see the children as they played, especially on the taller structures! My first impression was, wow, there's an ocean of balls for kids of all ages to play in! Then there were a few bigger, rubber balls. It reminded me of beach balls in the surf! There were several slides, big enough and allowed for an adult and child to hold hands and slide down next to each other! This place provides lots of fun for kids who love to climb, and or run around! There is a blocked off play area for toddlers and younger children. One area/climbing structure was roped off with yellow tape and and employee stood there the entire time to ensure no one got onto that structure! Inside the sea of balls, a vacuum tube made it possible for kids to suck up the balls into a bucket, push a button, and the balls would come raining down! Unfortunately, this machine was not in working order! Lunch! I entered the locked gate to retrieve my kids. As we left, there was someone at the exit checking to make sure that we all had matching armbands. We ate at the food court conveniently located just outside. Luckily, there are lots of food options! After lunch we reentered Happy Kingdom, I took up my position in the same place on the outer fence and kids played for another couple of hours. I give two thumbs up to Happy Kingdom! Cost: $14 each child, cheaper for siblings. Plus $2 for the adult accompanying them.

This play place is interestingly located inside a building alongside the Nations Experience supermarket. This makes it convenient for parents and caregivers because you can exit for a food or drink break, as well as get some groceries done. There are other eateries and stores in the larger Stockyards complex. There is ample parking; parking lot B is probably the closest. The supermarket and play place are on the upper level. Weekend and holiday (including summer/winter breaks, PA days) pricing is $21.99 for the first child and $20.99 for a sibling. The regular weekday pricing is $18.99 and $17.99, respectively. Accompanying parents are $6.99 each. This is fairly reasonable given the size of the play structures. The play structure is decently clean (not spotless but not super filthy either), and they have multiple slides, ball cannons, climbing areas, interactive projector screens, a ball pit, mini trampoline, and a small toddler area. One caveat is that there's no real supervision. All the workers are at the front, and maybe there are surveillance cameras, but no one physically in the play area itself or actively maintaining order. If you have young children, it would be best to supervise them closely so that they don't get pushed over by bigger or more rowdy kids. There are a couple of washrooms and sinks available, as well as some party rooms. There's a small area for people to sit and bring their own food/drink. The supermarket also has booth/food court seating. The arcade is also reasonably priced; they don't charge too many credits per game, and the kids were able to earn enough points for small prizes. It also makes for more variety in terms of serving kids of all ages.

Most indoor playgrounds have gotten rid of ball pits because they are known to be cesspools of viruses and bacteria, so if you can get over the fear of potential conjunctivitis or catching something else nasty, Happy Kingdom is a rare gem that has retained an indoor playground element that has just about gone into extinction. The overall play structure is well thought out and kids can probably find endless hours of entertainment exploring all the facets of it. It's nice that they also have a dedicated separate section broken out for younger toddlers to play in. We booked a room for a birthday party and this was pretty good value. The room setup and cleanup is all taken care of by Happy Kingdom and the room is very spacious for the price that you pay. That said, there is definitely a capacity issue that needs to be addressed here. There were far too many kids for the amount of space available and at several points kids were colliding with me as I was supervising my own. My toddler was also shoved from behind at one point by an older child and ended up bumping her head on the play structure.

Kids find this place awesome with indoor playground and arcade and bumper cars...Thats why 3 stars for me...If looked at from Adult perspective its maybe a 1 or 2 star if that. I would be closer to 1/2 a star but The Staff are incredibly helpfull and intuitive and reasonable, I have had no less than pleasant interactions with them for the amount of times i have been there that says alot... Most of us would agree 1 or 2 stars would be best because its easy for rainy days indoors and Staff lock the door for indoor playground so adults can sit and eat and make phone calls type on laptop for remote employment and so on...moreover no kids allowed out of indoor playground thats fenced and gated...unless parents caregivers etc are immediately right there in the vicinity and they will call you if something goes wrong or awry the bands are marked with phone number...

Games arcade: I have been there a couple of times, as much as it is fun for two kids 8 and under-I find it ridiculous that some prizes are so high in ticket cost I could go buy every item not even in bulk and still spend less than it would be to achieve the amount of tickets needed for corresponding prizes in game play...50 dollars worth of points is not even 7000-10000 tickets on a good day in tickets usually closer to 5000tickets is right on average and say xbox or apple ipad Tickets is xbox15000Tickets ÷ $50 = $750 Appleipad is 35000 Tickets ÷ 50$ is $1750 to achieve is quite bonkers... Im not sure if im correct on ticket cost for prize i know its close but Im sure you get the point Im makeing here...

Next issues is say an amazon gift card which is okay if its not just sold out 99% of time, If you partake in drinking alcohol you could get an lcbo gift card 2-All this is doing is teaching children its okay to drink but nowhere does it say Drink Responsibly and so forth because its not a licensed drinking establishment not governed by any provincial rules I feel like its bad marketing in a childrens arcade, I feel like this should be rectified in tickets to dollar amount and maybe make an adult prize binder 19+ that could be looked at instead of posting things on walls for the children to see!

On top of which the lower prizes I have had a few most usually break within an hour, Example spike light ball on rubber string that breaks second kids use it like a yoyo! Recieved 2 than broke 2 in less than 5 mins....Went back got another 2 and they broke as soon as we got home.

I have had fun a few times here with the little ones + family and awesome memories. I just feel like ticket the structure is a gouging joke with nearly unobtainable decent prizes and most that would be great are poorly laid out or simply forever been sold out and marked in blue bic pen instead of like a red marker (sold out) or Green marker (Available) in that Dark corner!

I am hopeing someday they update the...

I was at Happy Kingdom for 2 separate birthday parties this weekend, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

You hope that a place designed for children has certain health and safety protocols in place. Happy Kingdom clearly does not. The things I saw were disturbing, disappointing and very much mismanaged (easy to mismanage when the "manager on duty" is a very under-trained teenager).

During my February 24th, 2024 birthday party, I saw an older children (6-8 years old) going down one of the rainbow slides and urinate himself. I saw it, with my own eyes. He wet his pants and the urine went down the slide, into the ball pit. I immediately ran to the front desk, where there were EIGHT staff standing around, and let them know what I had just seen. I assumed the protocol would be: have a staff member go to the slides and let children know to not go down the slide; send someone else for sanitizing materials and finally, to assure the person notifying (in this case, me) that everything was all right.

Well, nothing happened. In fact, the "manager on duty", Grace, just stood and stared at me. I repeated what I had seen, and no one moved a muscle. I watched children continue to go down the urine soaked slide, some stomach down, for over ten minutes. I finally found Grace again, this time she was setting up a birthday pary, and I asked her what was going on. "I've sent someone to clean it up," she lied. "OK, which slide was it?" I asked her. "I have no idea," she admitted, because she wasn't sending anyone, and no one cared. This was not only a health and safety matter, but pure and simple -- gross.

The next morning we arrived for an 11 am party a few minutes early, so we were the third kid in the play area. Everything clearly had not been cleaned over night - dust bunnies, mouse poop, overall complete layers of dirt and grime.

I'm so disappointed at how little training this place gives it's staff, and how little ownership and care they all take. Players beware - you could pay $600+ to have your birthday party slide into some other...
