Winter on the Humber river means ice overflowing the banks of the river. Has been one of my favorite places it's quite usually to stop by and the roads is plowed no ice so not to worry about falling on ice. It's magical winter Wonderland. Yes there is wildlife, foxes, coyotes, deers, as it's their home and home to outdoor school - I wish I could be a kid again so I could be a student. You only get one life make it count. The road is accessible for scooters, walkers, wheel chairs and strollers. Summer months the area is far busier with traffic of bicycle, walkers, runners, schools kids/classes, sailors, canoe/kayaks, birds, ...I have spent over 30 years visiting the park, walking, picnics, doggies, we are so lucky to have an abundance of green spaces within our city to escape and pretend we are in the great outdoors. Read moreStarted a small canoe excursion from this park down the Humber River. The river leads straight into Lake Ontario, and you can get there in about 30m. Lots of ponds and marshland along the way. It is a beautiful little area within the big city that one can take in nature and feel at peace with it.
