We had my son’s wedding this WE and the experience was amazing. We booked the date a year ago as we fall in love with the place in our first visit. Afterwards, I started having doubts because of some reviews especially about the food. But the experience was worth every penny. + first contact: Loyola was very friendly and showed us the place with patience and answered our questions or asked to come back with the answer. + pre-wedding meeting: very smooth and very efficient. + tasting expertise: a must as the taste differ from culture to culture. It’s worth the money you pay. + place: we got the hall communicating with the patio; the room looked amazing. We invested only in flowers and we went very simple and budget friendly. +food: very tasty, we went with steak for everyone; didn’t want the headache of giving out guest to choose; we went to the food tasting ( I would highly recommend). We were five people to taste and we couldn’t agree on the chicken. We loved the pasta but, in our culture, it will be an insult to serve pasta for a wedding. Our friends were so happy that for the first time they got a hot steak in a wedding oh 140 people. +service: very friendly server, very efficient. We were setting the sweet table and forgot to bring some napkins. Without even asking, a server came with and helped set the sweet table. We had Alex ( he didn’t ask for a review) maître and he was amazing, easy going, very helpful. Again, the bride and groom decided last minute to put the berries themselves during the ceremony on the cake but we hadn’t a nice bowl, Alex run to bring it. +acces to the hotel. My son and his wife booked a room there a it was very helpful. What we didn’t like: - response time: according to my son, the had to wait a bit for emails to be responded to ( I would take this with precaution) - we were charged an extra 13$ per person because we asked for Halal meat, I understand that the supplied might have to go out his way for halal meat but this is Toronto !!! There Halal meat in every corner. It would be nice to have an installed sound system. Thanks everyone for making this experience memorable. N.B. If you were wondering about the price, the bill was around 20k for 134 person.

Everything was mostly perfect, good customer service and fast email responses following up to the wedding. Very detailed & put up with my million questions lol. The food was terrific & we are foodies. We just trusted them without doing taste tests since we ate at their restaurant before & enjoyed. We did have 3 last minute guests arrive who the staff knew about in advance, but they did very well to accommodate & offer them food despite not having them prepaid for and they just charged us during the final payment for that. This was a great service that they did not have to do. Unfortunately they had some of my guests wait longer than others to get their food but I do not know what the problem was, it may have been uncontrollable. BONUS because there were no bookings the night prior, they set up the tables that evening and let us come in around 4pm to set up. They even said we could have stored our decor in the room if they weren’t able to get the tables set up. This was a MASSIVE help to us and I would give 5 stars for that alone. Loved that our room (Westminister Room) came with the nice black chairs to save on that upgrade. And minimal decor was needed since the room is already detailed. I only removed 1 star because the day of the wedding, the service went down since the servers barely spoke a word of English and they didn’t announce that our over $300 cake we purchased through the event space was gluten free and vegan which we choose for the sake of our guests who had a lot of food allergies. Overall highly recommend, it’s so affordable & you get a lot of things included with the room with minimal decor needed and so many beautiful room choices. We paid $1000 for this room to have for 24 hrs but reception was 2pm-11pm. Included but not limited: chairs, tables, floor length table clothes, mic stand, music from the venue building (hallway music), coat hangers, cake cutting if you purchase their cakes, easels. Food was $65 a head for a promo. Plus tax and tip. Included hors d’oeuvres (not gluten free), 3 course meal served to table.

We had our wedding here in March of 2025. We also rented a room in the hotel area for 2 nights (beautiful rooms). The staff at the Old Mill were super easy to work with and they exceeded our expectations in terms of responsiveness and hospitality. The venue itself is very nice, it has a nice rustic feel and atmosphere to it. The catering staff were very exceptional and efficient. The food was a solid 8/10 as well. Our wedding cake, which he had made on site with the bakery was excellent as well! The entire staff at this venue were all super accommodating and helpful! We had some rowdy guests at our wedding at not once did any of the staff complain about it- a big thank you for that! The complex has a really nice vibe to it, making you feel at home and at ease. The only downfall with this venue was that the washrooms were a little out of reach for some. We had rented Brule Room C, which is a great hall, however, the washrooms were a bit of a trek for some. This was the only flaw I could think of. The Chapel is nice and quaint, making for a beautiful ceremony. All in all, I would certainly recommend this venue for your special day! Thank you to everyone at Old Mill Toronto for making our special day that much more memorable!!

My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Old Mill on Saturday, February 24th, 2024. Our initial visit and consultation was with Lotoya, who did a great job in taking us around to the different rooms and the venue. We initially booked the Victoria and Garret rooms, but as our guest list grew from 40 to over 50, we were shown larger rooms by Rebecca who took over our event. We ended up in the Westminster room, which was much more appropriate for our numbers.

We chose the Old Mill because of its reputation for events, and for the beautiful interior and exterior of the building. Also, the space is primarily an event space, away from other busy neighbourhoods. The location is also a big reason we choose the venue. I have friends who live in Mississauga and friends who live in Toronto, so it was in the middle. I also like that it’s right at Old Mill station on the TTC line, as many downtown guests could take advantage of this.

The planning and communication with Rebecca was very professional. She always responded to us in a timely fashion, and addressed all of our questions and concerns thoroughly.

The night of the event was close to perfect. I want to shout out to Dimitri, our banquet captain. He was very attentive, and always present. The bartender (we went with a host paid bar) Robert was also a superstar. He was very personable to us and all of our guests, extremely attentive, professional, and a great bartender overall. The wait staff was also extremely professional, personable, and the dinner service was flawless. The food was of high quality and very generous portions (we went with guests choosing their own entrees beforehand, so we chose their beef, chicken, veggie, or fish entrees). The OMT cake was very well made and beautiful. It was also very competitive in pricing to other bakeries nearby, so I don’t feel there is any need to go elsewhere since they make the cake on premises - one more thing to not worry about delivery-wise. The late night pizza we ordered was also very high quality, and our guests ate it all.

The only glitch I’ll point out is that the Westminster’s house lights flickered once they were set to below half of full brightness. This made it impossible to turn the lights down enough to be inviting. We had to keep them bright to avoid the flickering. Dimitri noted that usually they are turned down during the cocktail hour to be more inviting, and when the table candles are lit. This was not possible without a very annoying flickering of the lights. In the end, it was not a huge problem, but would have been nice to have them lowered. During the dancing part, they were turned all the way down, and our DJ’s excellent lighting took over.

All things considered, I’d say the event was very well priced for what we got. We splurged for the host-paid bar, served dinner, each guest chose their own entree, host-paid coat check, and host-paid parking passes. The host-paid bar is paid up front by averaging the number of drinks per guest (I think it was seven drinks), and then adjusted after the event for actual consumption. Since many of our guests don’t drink, we got a pleasant surprise after the event in the form of a refund.

I would absolutely recommend the Old Mill as a venue for a wedding or similar...

This is NOT the place to invest in and let me tell you why...

I'm an event planner in the film and TV industry and have led events on a global scale for many important conferences, panels, auctions and cocktail parties plus more. At first, I was thrilled to share this venue with my sister who decided to have her wedding here. It's a beautiful site but you should not rely on the service here for your big day. If you plan to have a wedding here, i suggest you don't. Let's start with our wedding coordinator, Tharsika, who decided to ignore us numerous times after the non refundable deposit was made on the space. She would leave us at our appointments. Eventually they let her go and she passed on old outdated information to the next person fulfilling her job, leaving our event a nightmare. She left the team with outdated information including our layout plan for the room, when asking the Old Mill about it they said this was not their responsibility. You're hosting our wedding? Of course it is. Next, the expensive runners for the tables could not be used because the staff decided to set up the dishes on the table very late, our schedule was delayed and our wedding planner had to re-do the table set up by herself with no help-all while the staff took pictures of her decor set up. Glad to know social media came before the wedding. The food was also not done in time so our guest had to go back to their seats to wait. But first, let's talk about cocktail hour. The bride and groom had selected items to be served, instead we were served pork and fish (which none of our guests nor the bride and groom eats for religious reasons, making this extremely offensive). We were also served one tray at a time with one server, so in the end we paid for food we never got. I was starving by then and had 1 cracker item for cocktail hour. Then once dinner was ready it was not enough for the guests, we even had people who couldn't make it, so how was there not enough food? Let's not forget the threat..if we didn't start in 30 mins Old Mill said we would not be having a ceremony at all. Excuse me? .... I guess maybe this isn't the place for people of colour since our dietary requests were not met either..that was extremely offensive. Luckily in my field of work this review won't be just available for Google. I'm going to have such a great story for my publicist friends. I've recommended this venue for many events in the film and tv industry and will make sure to revoke that recommendation. I use to think the Old Mill was just a historic landmark but unfortunately, their service and hospitality glorifies Eurocentrism...

We held my sister’s wedding for 80 people at the Old Mill in early Summer 2022 in the Guild Hall Room and Patio. We can honestly say the venue and staff at the Old Mill exceeded every one of our expectations in every way imaginable.

We scouted multiple venues in Toronto and conducted multiple tastings before deciding to hold the wedding at the Old Mill. It was the best decisions we made. The professional and courteous service provided by Rita and Demetri were second to none.

The Venue: The Old Mill was conveniently located in Toronto and offered numerous stunning settings for pictures and video shoots. The event room and the in-house chapel were elegantly designed and tastefully decorated. Staff took great care to pay attention to every detail in the room and on the dining tables. No detail was overlooked. Our vendors had no issue with completing their deliveries and accessing rooms/equipment/tools/etc. on time. The ambiance was warm and intimate and allowed for our guests enjoy their time with the wedding party and each other.

Staff From our very first interaction with Rita and the admin team who went above and beyond in helping us create the perfect event and itinerary, to the wonderful plates prepared by the chef and the kitchen team, to dining room team led by Demetri, we felt confident the wedding day would go perfectly as planned and our guests would feel welcomed and enjoy a memorable day. Rita made sure we had a peace of mind every step of the way and provide all required documents in a professional and timely manner. She took extreme care to make sure our incremental changes to the itinerary were accommodated and the special needs of the bride and groom were addressed at every turn.

The Chapel ceremony was conducted with the outmost class and Demetri took great care to support our guests throughout the ceremony and ensure everyone stayed on schedule.

Food We held our private tasting well in advance of the wedding day and had Demetri and head chef walk us through the dining options and ingredients. Both took the time to answer all of our questions at the tasting and follow-up questions leading up to wedding. The food was simply phenomenal, a sentiment echoed by our guests, and the plating with beautiful. Highly recommend the beef as it was perfectly prepared and complimented the house red very well.

Could not recommend the event hall, food and staff enough.

A big thank you to everyone at the Old Mill for a memorable wedding for our family and all of...
