Leuty Lifeguard Station — Attraction in Toronto

As a photographer, I’m always looking for locations that combine natural beauty, soft light, and a sense of calm — and Leuty Lifeguard Station is all of that and more.

This spot quickly became one of my favorite places to shoot engagement and couple sessions in Toronto. The beach, the lake views, and of course the charming lifeguard station offer endless inspiration for romantic, nostalgic imagery.

Leuty Lifeguard Station is an interesting spot that is close to the Kew Gardens and a restaurant. It is the quieter section to The Beaches. It is where the lifeguards launch their boats. It was nice to see how they go out for the day. They use rowboat to get to their stations from there. Nice area to take photography of Lake Ontario. Some Muskoka Chairs are set up to enjoy. I had seen people doing polar dips in the winter as it is a nice sheltered spot to enjoy. For dogs - a fenced dog area is right by the station so your dog can get some exercise. The lifeguards here are too busy laughing and chatting with their friends to actually watch the water. It’s honestly scary how little attention they’re paying to the lake — that’s supposed to be their job.

When me and my friend asked them a question, they were rude and clearly didn’t want to be bothered. Being a lifeguard isn’t just a fun summer hangout — it’s a serious responsibility.

We need people who take it seriously, not kids treating it like a social event. Really...
