I believe it was the owner that we had, but wow… what a terrible interaction and experience. The kayaks were nice and location was beautiful. However, the owner was just in the worst grumpiest mood. My friend and I were both so polite and patient! But he was the only one working and I understand that it can be overwhelming. We were the only ones in line and he gave us the attitude that we were such an inconvenience and a bother for even pre-booking at his business. He was whiny when getting our kayaks, and tried telling us to share a tandem instead of 2 single kayaks which we paid for. And the worst part was that he made us carry out our own kayaks. When we asked if he could help us 2 both lift part of it to the water, he just demonstrated to us how to do it ourselves and said “you guys got it” and didn’t seem to care. This wouldn’t have taken more 1 minute of his time. We’ve been to several kayak rental companies in Toronto and never had to carry our own. We also noticed prior to us, he helped other customers carry out their rentals. Just interesting how this was such a negative experience for both of us. Never had such an owner hate having customers show up? Please take your...
Read moreDo not recommend. Do not risk your life to come here. Update as the owner replied, I’m here to clarify. The owner asked me if I had any experience and I said no. And than the next thing he said to me is “ur good to go” after he has dragged the kayak to the beach. No “where you can and can’t go” no “what to do and not to do” and there were no “stuff” but the owner himself. And by the time he is starting to approaching me on a paddle board slowly, I’m already on the rocks sitting.
Had a near death experience today. Very in-responsible owner. I was told no instructions at all before going into water. I had to paddle to other paddlers to ask where’s the boundary that we should stay in. When I flipped my kayak, he showed no sympathy by coming to me on a paddle AFTER my friend has already moved me to the rocks island safely. And the first thing he said when I’m on land was that the paddle costs $1750 and we need to pay for it if it broke. Checking the paddle out before checking out me and my mate. We got no warning when the waves got too rough. After we got on land he told me a guy hit his head on a rock after flipped over and died there. The equipments was good tho. No stinky...
Read moremy wife and I went to inquire about the kayak, explained them that its our first time and that we have never been on one. The guy there heavily insisted that its an amazing weather and nothing would happen if we go on our own and that they are there for us if something were to happen. my wife and I trusted them and rented the kayak and went into the water. 2 mins into the water my wife started feeling nervous and wanted to return back to shore. when we returned literally 2 minute after renting the guy refused to give a refund. He didnt mention there are no refunds before the payment was made. There was also no posting saying no refunds. They charged us $35 for 2 mins and he said i cant make a refund because we work hard and the kayak would need cleaning. But in reality we helped pick the kayak back to the renting area and the "pebbles" that were in the kayak were from the previous customer. Even then we said we would pay a couple dollars bec really how long does it take to wipe down water and remove a couple pebbles and $35 for 2 mins doesnt make any sense.. its a rip off.. Dont fall into their words like we did because they are just there for the money.. No value...
