OMG THIS PLACE FINALLY OPENED UP AND IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!! The people that work here are SO sweet. They speak so kindly and they’re so helpful. PROS: - We FINALLY have a store near us that isn’t EXPLOITING us with crazy prices like convenience stores - Gluten free and dairy free options - AMAZING staff. So great! - The meat counter is literally like Farmboy. You get such nice stuff!!!!! - A whole pet section which is great because there’s a LOT of pet parents around here CONS: - Def need some running sales like no frills and metro has or people will just continue to go to No frills like we did before - As a celiac, I DEF recommend getting more gluten free options. Eg: gluten free Oreos, gluten free baked goods in the bakery section, gluten free food options in the live food areas - Staff needs to know what live food is gluten free / other allergens (but the place is still new so it’s not that big a deal that they don’t know yet) - Needs to stock up on more produce PS: WOHOOO NO MORE EXPENSIVE INSTACART AND UBER EATS!!!!

Not a good start. Already having some implicit attitude problems for customers who raise advice for their pastry (napoleon cake). 1. The cake itself has very not fresh crust and the cream is definitely not the smooth texture(poorer quality for a displayed pastry counter). When we come in and give the advice, they don’t seem to care and we say we want to see the expiry date/best day before for the cake they did not provide it. They say it is received daily from “ other store” which they are not baked in house and Offer to refund the 3 dollars. Eyes rolled lol. We refused and asked for 2 coffees, manager wants a mark up for price. (Coffee prices- 2.99 pastry price)Yes, like we go through all that just to get 2 free coffees from you lol. Marche Leo,be the bigger man here. If you want feedback, that is not how you treat your frequent customers.

This is the 2nd time I’ve experienced the same issue in this branch of Marche Leo’s. There are 2 types of chocolate croissants being sold here - one is $2.49 and one is $2.99 Both the times i took the cheaper one (albeit .51 cents but still) but i was charged the higher price. I’m not sure why. I’m tired of this now. It’s not the amount of money but the trust we have to say “no I don’t want the receipt”. I encourage other customers to please ask your receipt and double check. I encourage management to either change the price of the croissants and make both $2.49 or train your staff to key in the right order. This happened despite me showing the croissant from the paper bag because I know this isn’t the first time this “minor” error has happened. P.S. there was no one in queue so it’s not like the line was busy.

I shop here regularly as it's the only store I have access to. I am grateful for it existence but a lot of work is required to make it better. First: signage! You have so many aisles, and they are very long and yet there are no signs indicating what can be found in which aisle so you have to go down every aisle to maybe find what you're looking for. There are always guys stocking the shelves so you can ask them, but they often have to go find a supervisor so everything takes so long and a lot of resources especially if you don't have a lot of energy/time. The only organic produce is a few leafy greens -- disappointing. The supplements section is 50% vitamin C. I used to be a supplement buyer and the selection is ridiculous. This is because they only use one supplier instead of many to curate a selection that will actully sell + satisfy customers. They do not have Murphy's Oil Soap, which is a staple floor cleanser but instead about 15-20 brightly coloured toxic alternatives. The problem is the entire stock of their store is supplied by two distributors. A fantastic store would work with many to curate a good selection. Also, they need to mark the American products so that we can avoid them. The flower department is so poorly taken care of I frequently comb the section to take out the dead plants. Flowers past their optimum stage (closed, yet to blossom) need to be marked down, but nobody does this. The fresh cut flowers are way too expensive so maybe make a smaller floral department if there's no one to take care of it and have things like snapdragons, carnations, etc around $10. I don't know who owns the store, but it seems like it was made to run itself but not very well. The checkout staff are very friendly and helpful. Please get more ORGANICS...

New review after terrible experience here this morning:

I visited Leo Marche on Front Street East this morning around 9am and had a very disappointing experience at the hot counter.

Despite being the only customer waiting, I was ignored for several minutes. I left to get a smoothie and returned, only to be ignored again for another five minutes. No effort was made to even acknowledge me.

When I finally asked a staff member for help, I was told someone else would come over.

That person eventually arrived, clearly reluctant, and did not even respond when I politely said, “Good morning, how are you?”

This is not about an apology, it’s about basic courtesy.

To be completely ignored as a customer is upsetting and strips away any dignity in the interaction.

As someone who lives opposite, I had hoped to support this store, but there are plenty of other options in the area. Locals matter, and experiences like this make it clear I won’t be returning.

The prepared and to-order food is fantastic.

The staff are a fantastic team and it shows. They clearly have a caring manager and support team who ensure their happiness and well being.

Fantastic selection of food. I do wish some of the basics were cheaper, but appreciate the cost of living has gone up for everyone.

Keep up the...

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !

I recently had the pleasure of stopping by the new independent grocery store that has popped up across the street from my condo, and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. Setting up a grocery store from scratch is no easy feat, and I have been walking by frequently to see the long hours that the dedicated staff have been putting in to get everything ready for the grand opening.

It truly baffles me to see so many negative comments and reviews from people who are quick to judge and criticize before the store has even had a chance to open its doors. As an independent store, it is understandable that the process may take a bit longer compared to chain stores, but the hard work and dedication of the staff is evident in every aspect of the store.

The pricing at this grocery store is incredibly fair, and the quality of the products is outstanding. I am confident that once the store is fully operational, it will become a beloved staple in the community. I encourage everyone to show some appreciation for the efforts being put in and to support this independent business. Give it a chance, and I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service, fair pricing, and top-notch quality of...
