This is one of the most beautiful parks I have come across in the Toronto megacity, and coming from someone who's moved as much as I have, that's saying quite a lot!
Because I've moved so much within the city since moving to the GTA, I have had a chance to see a lot of parks and parkettes. This park has an amazing playset for kids, complete with many kinds of swings, a climbing structure, slides, and so much more.
On top of the amazing jungle gym, there is the beautiful lake to look onto, a nice grassy area perfect for picnics, and even a pretty well maintained outdoor pool!
Another great feature of this park is that it is connected to a vase cycle path that connects all throughout the city, and they even were thoughtful enough that where there are places that necessitate a bridge, they have two. A cyclist bridge and a pedestrian bridge. The sogns help people stay safe in a potentially otherwise pretty dangerous.
A pretty unique feature that makes this park special, however, is their small theatre. It's not much more than a paved area with a small stage section, but as with all things, it's how you use it that matters. There have been so many interesting cultural events and urban dance centred activities, as well as preformances!
This is likely, in my opinion, the best park I've found, within the Megacity, aside from places like High Park. I absolutely recommend checking this park out! As an artist, it's one of my favourite...
Read moreA friend and I visited this park on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 and really enjoyed our walk along the well-paved path. If you are an avid photographer, you will love this place! The contrast between the high rise buildings and the beauty of nature was absolutely stunning! The colours of the water, sky & trees were gorgeous that day!! The parking was a bit questionable though. Google Maps didn't lead us to a proper lot, so we just parked at a nearby grocery store and walked a small distance to the park. There were bridges, lighthouses and lots of birds, geese and ducks! The park joins up with the Humber Bay Promenade which was also a very lovely walk along the waterfront! An excellent way to spend a few hours of your...
Read moreBeautiful string of parks and trail but waaaay too many suicyclists in their lizard spandex behaving entitled and riding fast and close to pedestrians and kids. Gross. Give those yahoo's their own trail so it doesn't feel like taking ones life into their hands just to go for a walk. Not relaxing in the least about 75% of the time. Other than the lack of separate bike/pedestrian trails it's a pretty perfect place to go for great views and a seaside feel. Mimico is a hidden gem once you get west of the strangely car dependant condo wasteland that is Humber bay snores lol check it out but be prepared to almost get cut in half by bro magnon dudes and dudettes wrapped in cellophane on their 4 inch wide...
