From what I see, the change in ownership just replaced one list of problems with another list of problems. Unlike the review before mine, I was very happy to see all the Star Wars junk and Australian snacks removed. The place was cluttered and the previous owner must have been a hoarder or something. I welcome the extra space and extra tables. The previous set up gave me anxiety.
I ordered a medium latte and my wife ordered an iced oat milk chai latte, with tax and 10% tip came to almost $16! I get inflation and high rent prices but if you are going to charge Yorkville prices give me a fancy coffee shop and high quality coffee. The baked goods were lacking as well. The previous owner did much better with muffins, croissants, etc. I think I saw $11.50 for a milkshake on the menu ...lol. Come on guys! There are other options in the neighbourhood, don't do this to yourselves.
I've been an avid cafƩ goer for the last 25 years and I know a coffee shop that will go out of business when I see one. Unfortunately this is one of them. I give them less than 2 years unless they drastically change things around.
I'll give it one more try in a couple of months before I write them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOut in the far west edges of Toronto, I was dying for a good kick of caffeine and stumbled into this sunny bright spot in Baby Point. I LOVED the fact the owner is an Aussie who's love of all things coffee which includes the true flat white.
The cafe is super bright and sunny with it's bold yellow accents everywhere and really open spacious. The back wall is where you can order up your drinks and snacks. I loved how they had Lamington's there... I haven't seen them in years! I really enjoyed getting my drink here as the owner was just great and friendly.
Flat White with Almond Milk - Smooth, well balanced, and flavourful... sure it doesnt have fancy little leaf on it but you dont need it when it tastes this good. 4/5
If I'm ever in the edges of Toronto again, I'll be happy to stop by and grab...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsed to come here every once and a while after my cats vet visits, loved the star wars theme. Hadn't visit in a while but was in the area so stopped by to get ice cream. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. No more star wars theme. Literally the one thing that made this place special is now gone. Now it's just a generic coffee shop. On top of it, all they had was chocolate and vanilla ice cream. No cool flavors. Generic ice cream for a generic coffee shop. Can't believe you got rid of the only thing that made you guys unique and special, especially since the drinks were average at best but put up with it because of the theme. Saddened that there isn't any reason to...
