I did the 9 holes closest to the road on 6/10/20 with a buddy. Neither of us had golfed in years. Setting up the tee time online was so simple.our tee time was 9am. We drove from jasperand barley made it. The parking is easy and not too far from the clubhouse. The pro shop staff were very nice and answered any questions we had. They easily get a 10 out of 10. I rented a set of clubs as I didn't bring mine. The course clubs are a nice set of taylormade Sims. I'm an odd size arm length for my hight but they fit nicely enough. Better than some of the more inclusive clubs I've played at over the years. Almost made me want to buy a set. They included everything you would want minus a sand wedge, but there are not many bunkers on the 9 we played so it want an issue at all. The first hole is a nice 375 yard par 3. The fairway was a bit on the rough side but 100% playable. The greens were in good shape. There was a weekly lady's day going on and my partner and I are a bit rusty so we let them skip ahead and play through. Very friendly people and they set the tone for the rest of the people we met on the course. All lovely members. If you become a regular and get to meet any of them you will be pleased. The rest of the holes followed suit of the first. Some had nicer fairways and some had nicer greens. All of them on par with any local public course. The clubhouse restaurant was having a burger special so we sat down and had a bite afterwards. It's the type of place you can hang out and have a few drinks in a nice atmosphere.a rustic cabin style building overlooking the 18th green and driving range.the bartender was spot on friendly.we rented a cart aswell and felt comfortable the while time even though a few of the paths feel more like atv atv tr. Just adds to the excitement of the game though in my opinion.if I played more than a couple times a year I would not hesitate to get a membership. Because if covid they were taking extra precisions for cleanliness for guest safety and we were happy to see that. If you are in the area you can not go wrong spending a few hours on...
Read moreI had booked Hinton Golf Club for my wedding ceremony and the reception. Exactly 21 days prior to my wedding, the building had a fire. I was not contacted by the staff regarding this issue. I happened to find out about the incident from a friend of a friend who lives in Hinton. 19 days before my wedding I called The Golf club because I thought it must’ve been a mistake since the staff didn’t contact me. At that point they told me the unfortunate news. I panicked. They made no effort to help me find a new vendor. They made no effort in offering me my $1000 deposit. It was truly a stressful situation. I had to make 3 additional trips from Edmonton to collect my deposit and chase the director for my refund. I received my refund 1 week before my wedding. It was the worst experience and it was so poorly managed by the staff. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. This disaster has been resolved by the manager of the Overlander Mountain Lodge and the manager at Nova Hotel who jumped instantly to help me replan my wedding in 14 days and make my special day a great memory. I will always be grateful for Overlader Moutain Lodge and Nova Hotel Hinton. For those of you who had to plan a wedding you understand...
Read more$35 for 6-pw with 1, 3, 5w (9 clubs including putter!) of some of the cheapest golf clubs you can find (5+ year old Strata's). My set had an Adams pw. I tried telling the older gentleman working that charging $35 for these clubs was insane but he did not seem to have an opinion on the matter. The course had holes that were pretty much unplayable because it had rained and the fairways were saturated. This made for a less than desirable experience. After the round ended when we were returning our rentals we expressed our frustration the the older gentleman and again, he did and said very little other than saying "you can't control the weather." So the round, half a cart, and rentals cost just over $120 CAD. For the price you could do much better, but if you are in Hinton it's pretty much...
