I honestly never write reviews and I am only giving this place one star because of the nice water fountains when you enter the hall. This hall literally gave me so much stress for my wedding last month I had to tell my experience for my brides/grooms out there. I don't know where to even start? Should I begin with the lack of communication? Should I start with them ditching an appointment or me hunting them down for one? Should I start with my sound speakers going MISSING on my wedding day! Should I start with them talking smack in Italian not knowing or expecting that my father is fluent in ITALIAN. Should i start with them trying to hold my floor damage coverage deposit and literally having to call them everyday to get my $500.00 deposit BACK. You guys I can keep going and write a story. I'll try to give a quick run through.
When I first signed everything it seemed great. Decent price. Decent hall. And my preferred date which was a bonus. However, the headache they gave me wasn't even worth it for how unprofessional and unorganized everyone was. Every time you call its a different person who answers. Forget about emailing them they never respond. I had an appt with someone named Tina who I still never got to meet. I called because my wedding was approaching and we haven't done any floor plans or finalizing. So she said I can come 7 pm no later thats the last spot of the day. I rushed from Mississauga after work went to Vaughan 5 min early. For everyone to look at me and say what are you here for? Ummm my appt? They asked me with who. I'm like Tina? They literally looked at me blank and said she is done for the day and left. Sooooo why didn't anyone call me before I wasted time? Well we don't see your name or anything. Okay cool so they don't respect ppls time. I remember I asked one of the ladies on the phone one time what is going on everyone seems so confused. She said "we've been having some issues in our office." Yeah totally comforting. Moving forward, lets just get to the wedding reception night. My father and the DJ set up the speakers and etc for the music prior to the wedding day since there was no event to save time. The DJ gets to the hall calls my father and says he cannot find the two big stereo speakers on either side of the stage. It's gone all the cables are gone. I was not aware of this everyone kept it a secret or I would've probably fainted lol. So my poor mother/ father and thank God I had a wedding coordinator went to the hall staff and said where are the speakers. Everyone said I have noooo idea. So my father was like either someone broke in your hall and stole our stuff OR one of you guys disassembled it and took it so which is it?? Cause we have no music for a reception. Its already one hour before guests are arriving. They literally went on a hunt opening rooms checking behind doors for two big stereo speakers. My parents didn't even get to welcome guests properly cause they were freaking out in the back thinking of a plan B. So my dad was fuming and said somebody better find it NOW call everyone who worked the day before! These ppl then starting talking smack in Italian saying we don't know where this guys damn speakers are we told him we dont know let him find it himself we can't be bothered. HA my dad in ITALIAN responded saying I KNOW what you are saying GO FIND MY SPEAKERS NOW. Oh boy they were shook and said sorry we didn't mean it. With all this happening more guests are arriving I was told in the back my entrance is gonna be delayed so my schedule was pushed I didn't event get to do my own photo booth by they time I was told I can come out of the room to enter my photo booth finished since I didn't want anyone to see me before my grand entrance :( . I am running out of room for my review so fast forward the stereos were found tossed in a random closet in the hall and cables were tossed somewhere across from it We had to set it up again on the wedding night. I wish I could write more of the story but all I can say is STAY AWAY...
Read moreSTAY AWAY!!! Horrible. All the workers were rude and just wanted to get your business. The wedding coordinator was also very pushy and ordered everyone around, including the bride and groom, and the wedding guests. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I regret having my wedding at this place. The hall is very nice, but the employees were not pleasant to deal with. There are much better places that can offer you better service. It's sad to say but I was very dissatisfied with the service, if you can even call it that. They even threw out all of our belongings, when we wanted to pick them up the next day. They said "let me check on it and call you back", and obviously, we never received any calls back. They threw away all of our memorable items, decor items, and all the thousands of desserts that was boxed up for take home.
IMPORTANT: Also, DO NOT go with their preferred vendor, National Entertainment Group. They were horrible. Nothing was working. Projector screen was "broken", and they didn't bother to fix it. Technician just said "nothing we can do about it". DISGRACE! Don't let Riviera Parque and National Entertainment ruin your special event! It's just sad there are companies out there that don't care about great...
Read moreWe celebrated our wedding at Riviera Parque on August 2, 2015. We could not have been happier with the service that was provided from beginning to end. Meir was our kosher caterer for this event. He was exceptional in his professionalism, his desire to please the client, and his communication skills. During the planning process, he was very re-assuring that all of our needs would be met and he put us at ease. He quickly responded to all emails, text messages or phone calls, and he was very accommodating to specific requests. On the day of the wedding, Meir delivered on his promise. Throughout the entire evening, Meir kept asking my mother-in-law if everything was okay and if there was anything else he could possibly do for us. The serving staff were professional, efficient, and attentive. Friends and family from the wedding commented on the amount and variety of food that was provided and they were very impressed. Several guests mentioned to us that this was the best wedding they had attended. We will most certainly recommend Riviera Parque Dining, Banquet and Convention Centre and Meir and his kosher catering team to all of our friends and family. Thank you Meir and...
