This shop is located in Larch street nearby Hickory street. They have a variety of Indian millets and all types of flours used by Indians/ Mediterranean ppl. Some of their chapati/ parotta varieties can’t be seen in any other indian stores/ other supermarkets like walmart etc. If you’re a pickle lover, there are plenty of flavours to pick from and a whole lot of Spices and masala which Indians use in everyday life can only be bought here and in few other indian stores. A variety of indian snack items like samosa, vada, murukku, banana chips etc are available here. Almost all types of cooking oils can be purchased. They also have some pooja items and diyas.. which is really useful during the festive seasons. Although the price is little high compared to other stores, they have some of the unique collections of indian foods/groceries. Fresh veggies and fruits are available.

Wonderful little Indian grocery store! This is the only place in Waterloo I could find that sells any Indian spice you could ever be looking for, and they also have a wide assortment of other subcontinent staples, like tomatoes, ginger, hot chili peppers, chili sauces, dates, rice, etc. For a specialty grocery store, the prices are actually very reasonable too, and there is even a student deal where if you pay with debit or cash and have a student card on hand you can get 5% off. I am a particular fan of their sweet chili sauce in the back, their collection of Indian sweets like fresh jaggery, and their mangoes. The owners are wonderful people, always kind and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back once I use up these spices!

The Indian store is a conveniently located, compact shop that offers a wide range of Indian groceries. From everyday essentials to regional specialties, you’ll find items for Kerala-style, Tamil, Telugu, and North Indian cooking. They also carry fresh vegetables, dairy products, and a selection of frozen foods. The store tends to be busy due to its popularity, and while the customer service is friendly and helpful, parking can be a bit tight as it’s located within an apartment complex—so you may need to search a bit for a spot.

I have been there many times, but this was the first time I had a very negative experience. I picked an item with a price tag of $4.00 on the packet. I gave it to the owner/cashier and he said I needed my debit card or he would need to charge $0.25 extra since it was below $10.00 ( completely understandable). I ran to my car to bring my debit card. When I came back the cashier gave me the PoS terminal, and the amount I saw was $5 (I assumed taxes - would be unusual to have $1.00 tax for a $4.00 packet or something). But when I saw the receipt, I saw the $4.00 item was marked as $5.00. When I asked the cashier why he had done so ? The price on the sticker was older price and it has been updated. I felt he was lying because he had removed that sticker from the item, hoping I didn't check the price and he caould take advantage of that. I feel that the price on the sticker should be what they charge me irrespective of what's the current price because that's a fault on their part. I am willing to give them the benefit of doubt because this is the first time this has happened/I noticed something like this has happened. Takeaway what you want from this, but this was...

Yesterday i went to this store and i am an old customer and when we walked in the store owner greeted us and said nothing. when we picked all our grocceries and came to the cash counter with the last two bags of rice we found in our area he takes it away from us saying you can only take one think of others thats my policy. its not like we were buying his whole collection of rice that he had to pull away one packet of rice from us if we decided to buy it. if he was saving it for his friends or his family he should not have put it out on the rack for sale. if its on the rack its for sale. i being and old customer was shocked at the way he reacted to us trying to buy just 2 4 kilo packs of rice. it was not like we were buying 20 or 50 packs. of rice from him. He does surcharge for things. i.e onion sacks are 10 dollars when you can get a whole sack for 3- 4 max 5 elsewhere, puchkas 5 dollars when you can get them for 3 else where, Rice is 15 dolars for 4 kilos when you can get it for 5-8 elsewhere. His aashirwaad atta quality is not...

Usually there is a lady(really helpful) or a 40-50year old man(again usually helpful),

but the last time went there it was an unknown guy(this guy is arrogant for no reason). I wanted to buy a product, so brought it to the counter and the price was not the same as the tag. Instead of actually taking the time to remedy the issue , the guy was like :- "If you want to buy (at his price) then buy, if not"(he didn't even complete the sentence after it).

This guy had ZERO customer service skills. In regular retail fashion, he could've checked the price and should have given as per the tag price (because that is their fault for not updating the tag), if he didn't wanted to do that :- he should've atleast put the effort of saying that he cannot change the price and hence cannot sell the product. Arrogance is not the answer.

Makes me think twice before I need to go to an...
