December 2023 Party. We had a horrible experience since the beginning of our birthday party event to the end of the event when the facility lost our kid's backpack and essentials inside it, it was in the locker.
Some customer service staff at the party reception area was the major cause of this horrible experience from the start. We came early to make sure we don't have to rush in and miss things needed for the party and what we need to care for our baby and little ones. But instead we weren't accommodated for storing our essentials needed to be there and function as parents during the event. No one cares that we lost our kids backpack and essentials in it worth about $200 dollars and the sentimental elements inside it.
We wanted all of our belongings in one spot so it won't get lost and our fear one of them being lost happened because of such horrible experience we had. During the party, several times the staff (Allysa) didn't even know who the party parents are, keeps asking another person who literally was just sitting and not helping serve the food (the staff assumed they were the party parents, she apologized after) unfortunately during the party I was helping to make sure utensils are enough, plates are enough when it's supposed to be a hassle free party. One of the parents had to help me ask for more forks. I and another parent also had to clean up after pizza time and set up the plates and forks for the cake afterwards. I didnt have this kind of worry when I was at other party events we've hosted from Chuck E Cheese to Sky Zone. I had high expectations but unfortunately this time it was a horrible service from most of the staff (the party counter staff, young blonde haired, white coloured, short lady with ponytail was horrible, not ideal for customer service at all! The young coloured guy, he was very helpful, the server/host is nice but still not on top of everything when it comes to hosting a party and identifying who the party parents).
The manager or was she the supervisor (Heavy set, White coloured, short lady) was not accommodating at all, she provided no options for us to help accommodate us, she said its not our responsibility where you put your party stuff. Horrible response coming from supervisory level.
Anyways, can you please keep an eye when the unicorn bag will show up, maybe other people will bring it back cause that's stealing if they are taking things that doesn't belong to them unless there's just tons of stealers at Flying Squirrel and we can't just leave our stuff in the lockers anymore for fear that something like this will happen again. That's a bad reputation for Flying Squirrel.
The facility itself is fine for jumping but not for hosting party with young family that have babies, stroller, and young kids. There's no elevator for access with families that have strollers, steps are steep and accident prone carrying little ones. Not accessibility friendly either. There's no trolley for party essentials where parents can store party stuff needed for the party same with Sky Zone when we had our party this year. I would rather pay for Sky Zone party pricing than saving at Flying Squirrel for a party because of what we've experienced. Don't get me wrong, we still will come for jumps but not for hosting parties.
The food/Pizzas, it's giving us stomach ache. Poor little ones were having so much stomach pain.
Anyways, Pizza was horrible. Just as a suggestion, maybe have it delivered next time from Papa John (Sky Zone use them) or Domino's.
Again, these are my honest reviews and will be posting this on social media as well so people are aware and make sound decisions for their own parties. We hope our kid's unicorn backpack and essentials inside it will be returned, and place in lost and found, and or back in the locker for me to pick...
Read moreIt's a super hot July in 2025 and it's unbelievable that the air conditioning isn't working properly at Whitby Flying Squirrel... in this type of highly physical environment! Just sitting here watching my sweaty kids jump around and profusely perspiring myself. Staff have confirmed that it's been an issue all summer and the owners will not spend the money to get it fixed. It's very uncomfortable and potentially dangerous for some people. It also smells like sweaty feet, throughout the building!
It's 8:15pm on Sunday July 6th and there's a few families here with their kids, running and jumping around. The staff are spraying chemical cleaner all over the trampoline vinyl floor borders (saturating the area that kids walk and run on) in large sections of the main jumping area. Spraying it all at once, before wiping any of it down. Seven kids ran through the chemical puddles, as there's no wet floor signs, announcements, staff actively monitoring the area, or any other warning system. Luckily, nobody slipped, but many complained about wet socks afterwards (including my daughter). The two workers doing the cleaning would simply yell at the kids to stop, if they even noticed them... while the kids were running through the puddles.
As a large business General Manager for over 20 years, I sometimes like to share my knowledge (firstly, I'll ask a young supervisor for permission to share that type of feedback). After being asked to proceed, I addressed my concerns with the 'supervisor' in a pleasant and friendly tone. I mentioned that the method and the timing of the cleaning, significantly cuts down the play area for the current paying guests of the facility. Talked about the safety concerns for everyone and especially children. I then concluded with her, that this type of cleaning should be done afterhours, or with an adequate warning system. Surprisingly, the 'supervisor's' response was condescending, facetious, lacked any semblance of logic and she offered no apologies. These were her argumentative points, that she delivered with a spicy tone...
No apologies for anything (not even the sweltering heat) and she walked over to another worker, obviously spoke negatively about me and they both looked over at me and laughed. That was a nice touch.
This was our surprising lack of service and the intolerable environment, that we experienced tonight... celebrating my daughter's birthday, with our family. We paid almost $100 (three kids for one hour, from 8-9pm) and the whole experience was definitely not worth the investment. Wish that we went...
Read moreI will never return to the flying squirrel again. I have been coming to this trampoline park for about 2 years because my son enjoyed it. But lately, I have been feeling like it has been more of a detention than it is for fun.
Whenever we go, I feel like we are being closely monitored and constantly reminded of what we can’t do. Even my son has began to notice that whenever he is beginning to have fun, he is being told not to.
For example, my son, (3 years old) wanted to stack the cubes in the foam pit. I tried to be considerate and brought my son to a corner of the foam pit that is not anywhere close to being used by other kids. As soon as he started stacking blocks, a teenager employee came marching over telling him he can’t do that.
Another incident, I attended with my 3 year old son and my 1 year old baby. Of course, the baby is too small to jump so I decide to hold him and walk along the borders so I can keep an eye on my 3 year old. I was at the park alone and did not have anyone to help me with supervision, so this was the best I could do. I’ve done this numerous times and it has worked well in terms of providing supervision and allowing my son to play freely. But suddenly, I’m being approached by a staff member (who is wearing shoes on the trampoline) and I was told I can’t hold the baby and be on the borders. I asked why and his only response is “in case you get knocked over by another kid”. I think this concern is made up and not realistic as I am a large male. Additionally, I responded and said how am I supposed to supervise my son while also holding the baby. His response was “figure it out”. This response was rude and unprofessional.
This interaction was at the beginning of my hour of jumping but we only stayed for 20 minutes because this ruined the entire experience.
I cannot even count the number of times the kids that work there are telling me or other people what they can’t do.
I have decided to completely cut off this trampoline park.
My advice to people looking to go to the flying squirrel is simple: don’t. Your kid will be closely monitored regardless of your supervision.
My suggestion to the park is: rethink your approach to park rules. I get it, there are rules and policies in place for the safety of the children at Okay. But the staff there are disgruntled, miserable, and unprofessional. Not every rule must be enforced so strictly. Perhaps, the staff should be taught the idea of discretion and understanding that it is Okay for kids to have fun, even if they are stacking 3 or 4 blocks out of the foam pit.
This mentality of aggressive staff approach and strict enforcement has only gotten worse in the last few months. It has gotten to a point where I am anticipating the correction of something my...
