UPDATE! I have had it. The incompetence is just inexcusable. I had to ask my doctor's office to send my prescription multiple times now because they never seem to get it. Today, when I called them to check again, I couldn't even get a hold of them. I was waiting for an answer for about 20 minutes then when someone answered, she just dropped the call. Called again, waited for 10 minutes and the phone wasn't even ringing anymore. Called again one last time and no answer. Finally transferred my prescription to a different pharmacy.
Never have I ever had a ruder interaction with any pharmacy assistant than with Rohit.
Rohit was very crude and dismissive when I asked for my prescription to be filled telling me they are busy even though I was the only person in line and insisted that I can wait. Moreover, when I told him I have a new, secondary insurance that can cover the rest of the cost, he condescendingly told me that my medication is not covered by insurance as it was ācontinued careā. I did not know what he meant by that so I politely asked him to clarify what he said, to which he replied āTHIS IS NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE THIS IS CONTINUED CARE!!ā (in a louder, frustrated voice looking at me like I was stupid for not getting what heās saying). I know that my insurance covers this medication and so I really didnāt understand him and I asked (still politely) what ācontinued careā means. He then pulled a tantrum and walked away to ask the pharmacist a question. The pharmacist came to the till and explained to him how insurances work... In the end, my medication was covered by MB Blue Cross and Rohit just did not know what he was talking about.
I was blown away by his arrogance and audacity to make me feel stupid when HE was the one who didnāt know what he was talking about. He didnāt even try to explain ācontinued careā to me and why itās not covered, or even took my insurance info to try it. He just flat out dismissed me and my insurance. The entire encounter couldāve been pleasant if he just talked to me nicely but instead, he was overflowing with rudeness and condescension. Avoid him...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBe careful when using this pharmacy. I recently had an experience with them where the employee's told me to contact my doctor to change my prescription so it would be easier for me. I am on a pen injection the first pen I was using had the markings .25/.50 (I am taking .50) they advised me to get my doc to switch to .50/1mg dose pen. So I did what they suggested. My doc sent the prescriptions in on a Thursday and when I picked up the following week they had the old pen ready. I then asked them to get the pen ready that they suggested I get the percription for as I made a drs appt and switched it over. The whole time I am thinking i am getting a pen where the dose is clearly marked like the first one as the employees even stated such. So fast forward I go to take my weekly dose and im turning the knob.. it goes straight to 1mg. I phone the pharmacy and as what am I suppose to guestimate my does here based on clicks being sarcastic as im kind of taken back wondering where is the .50mg mark?? She says ill phone you back. I phone back and she proceeds to tell me she YOU TUBED how many clicks of the pen I am to inject. WHAT?? YOU TUBE really!! This point I am pretty upset. I paid $245 dollars out of pocket and then this became sorry we can't help you as you paid out of pocket, and its is not a covered med..then the blame game that I requested this pen..I didnt even know this pen existed until they told me to go get it!! This is not the first time their employees gave me the wrong advice.
I have filed a complaint with the Manitoba College of pharmacists.
Please take my advice find a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThank you Shoppers for ruining my vacation. All I can say is oh, I'm glad I'm not on medications for heart, blood pressure or anti-rejection. But, what I am on greatly improve my quality of life. I went to the pharmacy a good two weeks prior to my departure date. I told them I would need three months worth of medication. They said that they would look after it and fax the required things to my doctor. I checked back frequently, and even called my doctor making sure that the faxes had got there. Shoppers kept telling me it would be ready. I kept checking back daily a few days prior to my departure. I kept getting different answers from the pharmacy tech and other staff. And then I was told when time was running out that they couldn't do it, for some reason. So here I am without enough medications..... Suffering! Every time I went in there to check to see how things are coming along, I just made to feel I was a pain in the a**. I've come across a good handful of people who are on a lot more neds than I am, who had no issues getting enough supply for their vacation. And to Shoppers drug Mart who may respond to this, I have no plans on calling your 1-800 number. I'm sure they're as unhelpful as the staff in your pharmacy. Also there's no way you can help me at this point as I'm in the USA. I just can't get over the treatment. And it's not like I didn't give...
