Hanting Express Hangzhou West lake Jiebai — Attraction in Hangzhou City

What a delightful surprise this hotel was. Rooms were exactly as what was in the picture. Bed was crazy comfortable. Shower was unreal - water pressure and heat were divine! Great location, only 15min walk to the lake. The metro stop in super close too. You can rent bikes for 3hrs which was helpful - just m=note you cannot actually cycle on the pathways along the lake. We didn't know that. Staff's English was 50/50, so having our booking confirmation printed in Chinese was very helpful. Even though staff's English was 50/50, we got all our questions answered and they were very helpful.||||Side note on the shower, make sure to flip up the drain cover otherwise you will get water all over the bathroom floor. Lesson learned...

Was denied checkin by the hotel because they did not accept passport! They required chinese ID for checkin which means only people from mainland china can stay there? I reserved it from booking.com and when i asked them why did they list this property on an international app when they are not accepting foreigners they could not provide me with a reason. They referred me to another nearby branch 700m away saying that they accepted international passports. So we walked over only to be denied AGAIN. Demanded an explaination and they said they are more strict now since it is near golden week. Terrible experience and i will never be staying at another Hanting branch ever. Book at...
