Memory Travel Hotel — Hotel in Hangzhou City

Sincere hospitality and care for customers are rare find in Mainland China and the owner of Memory Travel Hotel in Xihu Hangzhou is an outstanding example. The owner was so nice and helped us with our super heavy luggages because the hotel doesn't have elevators. There are plenty of umbrellas we can borrow without extra charges. The rooms are clean and modern. The hotel has a washing machines that costs CNY 9 in CNY 1 coins plus extra CNY 5 if ones want to spin dry more to squeeze more water out of their clothes. Cons about this hotel : hot and cold water pressure can be problem due to mixing imbalance, sometimes it can get too cold or hot, pretty unstable, the partition between room is not sound proofed enough, so please be nice and quiet there or bring ear plugs, no elevator in this hotel, so pack lightly and bring light luggage. It takes about 20-30 minutes walking distance to nearest subway station or the Xihu lake shore. There are big Carrefour supermarket about 1km from the hotel within 20-30 minutes walking distance. Taxi costs about CNY 11...

First of, it is important that you read my words carefully. The location of the hotel is amazing and so are the staff/owner of the hotel who was very friendly and welcoming to us guest. But unfortunately, the cleanliness is something that I have to say was pretty bad. The walls were tainted with fluid that I hope isnt what I think it is, and there were black mold on the glass wall. The shower would get flooded within a few seconds of showering and a bad odour would come out of the drain. The bed was also pretty creaky and you could easily hear next door's bed creaking heavily as they move around. But the towels, and the sheets were clean and that is a a plus and very important. If you are on the upmost budget and you are not picky when you travel, I would advice to go for the capsules as they are a great price. Definitely one of the best hostels I've ever been to. The rooms are nice and clean; I was staying in a 4 bed dorm room, each bed had its own sockets. The bathroom was clean too and the shower was really nice. The location is awesome. About 5 minutes walk to the next metro station, one station to the railway station (and the east railway station is at the same metro line too), nice area in general. The owner of the hostel is a wonderful person, very friendly and caring. I forgot something in the hostel and he went out of his way to send it to me, I had it back the next day.
