We went up by stairs and slopes to the High West. It gives us a very good 360 degrees as you can have the bird's eye view to see the views of Hong Kong Island, across Victoria Harbour, the outlying islands of Hong Kong and you can relax and have some snack at the lookout. Hong Kong is a beautiful city especially if you like hiking and go to different parts to be immersed in the nature. There are many varieties of plants, animals, insects, and historical spots. We have seen many fantastic butterflies, and people around like hiking with dogs, family and friends. It is not a very difficult hike and we tried the other way to go down. It could be more challenging but again see the wonderful views worth trying something...
Read moreAbsolutely a joy to come up and enjoy the sunset. No matter what is the weather, the view is amazing.
If you want to be lazy, you can take a bus 15 or mini bus number 1, get off at the peak. From the peak, heads towards Harlech road. Walk along the road until u see a garden. Entrance for high west is there. Although there are plenty of steps to go to the top, it is properly paved. Worth the effort particularly on a clear day like this. The view is truly amazing.
It can get windy at times but it is a joy to enjoy the breeze.
Today, we managed to see lamma Island, lion rock , shenzhen and a fabulous Victoria harbour. Check out the pictures. The calmness and the colours are amazing. Don't forget about the...

We started the hike from Central, taking old peak road towards the peak (which is a steady steep incline). It was quite humid in April24, so I was sweating bullets but overall wasn't a difficult hike. It was really good to have a break at the peak with a few eateries including 7/11. From the peak, we continued on, following the signs to high west. It was a relatively easy walk, slight inclines until you reach stairs that take you up to the...
