Tseng Kwan Shek (Old Man Rock) — Attraction in Hong Kong

Old Man Rock (Tseng kwan Shek) through Chaiwan Gap , Mt Parker water catchment . Bus 9 or 14 will bring one to Shan Tsui Estate at Tai tam road after the Chaiwan Road. At about 50 M into Tai Tam Rd near the slope on the side opposite to Shan Tsui Estate there is a small staircase which one can follow 550M to hit the Mt. Parker water catchment . This stretch of walk is sandy and sloppy and not readily visible , so one should be careful in hiking here. From along this catchment for 1.5Km will lead one to the point underneath the Old man Rock. Climb up a sandy mud trail for about 500M will bring one there. The 500 m walk will not be easy but is manageable by experienced hikers. At the landing site of the barren Sandy patch , the views are very good for looking at Junk Bay and Old Kai Tak Airport Runway. The walk along the water catchment is easy and provides views of Kowloon East areas of Junk Bay, covering Lohas Park, Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay. 柏架山可算是耀东村的后山，起码有三条路通上去。而且在耀东村里面走走坐坐，吃个饭，感觉也很好呢。这次先到耀贵楼旁边的励志会梁李秀娱纪念小学，绕到后面的停车场，接斜坡楼梯上山。上山途中遇见男女三人，分别抱着三个小孩，也往山上行去。难道家在山上？后上来引水道，过25（1）号涧，听见涧边窝棚有人声传来，正是那几人。向前过一个路口，地下石上刻着耀东两字。再前就见左边有铁板架过引水道，边上还有一块山泥警告牌。几步就上来环柏架山的山腰小径，也可以叫上路。左转几步很快就可以沿脊线向上爬。也不费力就来到大石区，有一片黄土裸露。山下高楼密集，对岸是鲤鱼门，一直远望到钓鱼翁。石区中段有一人形大肚石，再上就是将军石，头发侧飘，有些象桔子洲头的毛泽东头像。 再上是45度斜径，行在林中，直到车路前一百米有个小山包，有几块石突出，可以赏景。然后来到车路，左转上两个天文台。先到东方507山顶，标高柱在发射架下，亦有路下山，看来颇密。回走至另一个大白球，从后方绕过，翻过栏杆前行十分钟，来到532标高柱。本可一眺山南，谁知雾气上涌，白茫一片。只得继续西行，至西、南路口，看来还算可行。北向亦有布条指引，经密林直下车路。但后段至一干涧，颇斜，又没有了布条，只好横向移往一段斜坡楼梯，才得下来。续至...
