I am a fan of indian food, especially curries, and it's really surprise to find one of such traditional Indian Restaurant in this old residential area of Hong Kong Island.
The restaurant really offers a no-frills and budget option for neighbours in Shau Kei Wan. The various lunch sets cost less than HK$50, and it even offers discount for students, so they are really lucky to be readily affordable to this tasty cuisine.
There are various different menu of curries and other Indian dishes serve here. My favorites is of course chicken curries. The chicken was tender and yummy. I also like their fish and prawn dishes, which are dilicious. The curry is not spicy, and it reminds me of my familiar flavours of traditional Indian cuisine. I am so delighted that It serves with unlimited rice and naah, which is sufficient enough to satisfy my large appetite!
Like most people, I started switching to a more healthy eating habit, and it's great to learn that the restaurant also offers a reasonable selection of menus dedicated to vegetarian. My favourite is tomato vegetable and potato curries.
The small place creates a friendly environment and a casual dining atmosphere, which offers only a very limited number of seats. So it's not strange that the place is always packed. Read moreIf anyone is craving for Indian food this is a great place to visit. The place is simple and cozy. The staff is friendly and attentive. Since it was nearly closing time for lunch the place was not crowded. We ordered for some typical Indian snacks like vegetable pakoras, fish fry and garlic chicken kebabs. The dishes were tastefully done and reminded of food back home. The chicken was very tender and juicy. We then had chicken tikka with naan which was good and not spicy. They have set meal options too which are pocket friendly. We had some mango lassi which was delicious and not too sweet. Since it was Diwali we were offered sweets which we thoroughly enjoyed. We also packed samosas for home which were very good. A good place to...
Read moreTasty food, decent service and everything else all way around. Dish sizes are similar to other Indian restaurants which are relatively small but definitely enough to fill you up. Unlimited naan guarantee you will not walk away hungry. We ordered Butter Chicken and Mutton Ribs Curry. They are both awesome. Talking to the staff and his personal favorite dish is Chicken Tikka Masala. We’ll try that next time. The Mango Lassi is a bit watery. The Masala Tea is a pleasant surprise that my wife said that it cured her cough. IMO, it must be an...
