Captain Coffee — Restaurant in Hong Kong

It is soooooo hard to find a comfy, spacious upstairs cafe with a varied menu containing good, healthy food options and excellent service in an old district like Shau Kei Wan. Judging from other reviews of this cafe, there is definitely an expat and younger population/community here that is under-represented and under-served.

Back to my review of this cafe, we love Captain Coffee's all day breakfast (at a very reasonable price of around HKD90) and thick, juicy lamb chops + mashed potatoes and greens (again, very reasonable - around HKD110). Given it is Shau Kei Wan, their menu also lists some more affordable Cha Chan Teng-type options (like instant noodles). There are small coffee tables where you can order a drink and sit around with your laptops/iPads and use their wifi or check out their collection of books, magazines, toys and newspapers. There are at least 4 bigger tables where you can eat and play boardgames (also provided).

Captain Coffee is conveniently-located in the heart of Shau Kei Wan(around 1-2 minute away from this huge bus station and MTR Station). It has its own hair salon, so young, chic moms can come for a hair cut while children can eat and play...

This is a simple cafe & coffee shop on the 1/F of the Lancashire Centre building on Shau Kei Wan Road. Opening hours are 9am to 6pm (Mon, Wed to Sat), 2pm to 6pm (Sun), closed on Tuesdays.

Menu is a basic range of coffee shop style local and western dishes, coffees and non-coffee drinks. Prices are reasonable, service friendly and timely. I recently stopped by and was served up a pretty good latte coffee.
