This place started off as a nice, cozy option if you wanted a somewhat fancier dinner in the neighborhood. Good menu depth, tasty food for a reasonable price. You'd be greeted with a free serving of ciabatta to dip in olive oil and vinegar... nice standards!
But that was before the pandemic. How is it now? Well it's still cozy, the menu still has some depth... but the quality has gone done quite a bit. Items are often overcooked. The best bits come in smaller quantities (like the beef cheek, now used in a burger). Veggies, which used to be on the creative side (purple potato, pumpkin...) have gotten more basic. No more freebies, everything is "extra" and paid for... to the point we didn't even have water on our table! Last point, don't get fooled by the posted 10pm closing time. We tried the Seafood Paella and the Giant Grouper Steak and beers. A little disappointed with the quality, the Grouper dish sauce on it was fine, but the tissue was tough and had bones in it. The Paella rice however was so wet and in soy sauce coloring. Shrimps were not fresh enough and with whole shells , salmon was fine, and with a big mussel. Read moreThe place just looks so funny inside, with fake plastic cherry blossoms and the chandeliers. However it does look glam and quite upscale but the prices are low.
The price is what you get from the food so don’t expect too much greatness.
The staff are good here and are always helpful too.
I just didn’t like customers just throwing their money on the table to pay. The staff could just do the same but they don’t.
It is worth a visit if you are in town.
