The Macao Contemporary Art Centre - Navy Yard No. 1 is an exhibition centre located at the old dockyards near Barra Square. Opening hours are 10am to 7pm daily (closed on Mondays).
This is a neat location, a former mechanical room that was refit into a exhibition hall and opened to the public at the end of 2016, creating new space for modern visual art exhibits in Macau.
The exterior still looks very much like a dockyard building. However there are signs to reassure that you are at the right location (see submitted pictures if helpful). Once inside you will find a large open space with a few interior walls to create more space to display artworks.
Presently (28 Dec 2018 to 17 March 2019) the Macao Contemporary Art Centre is being used along with four other locations around the city to display works from the 3rd Macao Printmaker Triennial.
Of the 175 works being displayed, the award winners and honourable mention works are being displayed here at The Macao Contemporary Art Centre. There are some really works to see, something potentially enjoyable for fans of art who are visiting Macau between now and mid March.
