My stay at the Regent Shanghai Pudong,
Amazing! The hotel & staff were very friendly and accommodating, and especially Henry, Shu, Danny and Virginia from the front desk were amazing. They were always willing to help with any queries or requests and went out of their way to make sure I had the best stay possible. Virginia in particular paid special attention to get the health code verified for Shanghai and I really appreciate all the effort they put in to making sure I had a great experience and I would definitely recommend staying here. The hotel also offers great amenities such as a gym, a spa, and a bar. The gym was well-equipped with a wide selection of exercise machines and weights, and the spa offered a variety of relaxing treatments. The gym was spacious and modern and had all the necessary equipment to get a good workout. The breakfast had a lovely selection, with a large buffet. The swimming pool and view of the Shanghai Financial Tower was beautiful. The gym facilities were also nice and modern. During my self-quarantine, I was unable to eat breakfast in the Camelia Restaurant, but the food was delivered to my room. The same held true for the Happy Hour food from the lounge, which was also delivered
The room i had was really spacious and big, nicely thought out with a comfortable bed, a work desk and a couch. The staff were always willing to help with anything I needed, and they were friendly and accommodating. The wifi was good and the housekeeping staff were always prompt and efficient. The hotel also offers shuttle bus service to the airport, which was really convenient. Lastly, the hotel offers laundry services, which I found really helpful when I had to stay longer than expected.
All in all, I had a really pleasant stay at the Camelia Hotel and would definitely recommend it to others. The staff were amazing, the amenities were great, and the rooms were comfortable...

Luxury travel is something that is familiar to me and to have THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER during check in left a bitter taste throughout the whole entire stay. Which could have been avoided if the front desk wasn't so scummy. Not sure what they are trying to pull asking for A PIN NUMBER for a credit card they already have on file. I had already put down the money for the hotel using my IHG CC and for some reason the front desk couldn't figure out a way to accept my Apple Pay to confirm my deposit. I had to call my bank and they confirmed it was on the hotels side for trying to extort a PIN NUMBER from a credit card, they clearly knew that this is not a normal procedure.
After 30 minutes of being on the phone (about an hour after normal check-in time) they told me my suite wasn't ready yet. Mind you I went on off-season, and within the 3 nights I stayed there was barely any foot traffic in common areas and in the Club Level. In the end, they made a decision to just simply run the card already on file.
To give you a full bitter review, I'll reveal the major flaws on the hotel. Being that it is apart of the InterContinental Group, I would expect all staff to be proficient in English. This was not the case, or staff falls into a fake sense of not knowing English during their convenience.
Forewarning, the walls are not sound proof and the air is very dry.
Room service was amazing though, they were very organized with my belongings as I went out.
Would not recommend now experienced this hotel, I recommend the Waldorf Astoria instead, the location is PRIME, the hotel lobby and amenities are immaculate and the view across the bridge...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend booked a one night stay at the Regent Pudong for her birthday. I would like to start off by saying Robin was fantastic from start to finish. I emailed several hotels for more information on spa and dietary information but Regent was the only one that got back to me thanks to Robin. He was also very helpful and added some nice touches to our stay during check in. We stayed at the King Club Regent room with the Pearl view. Needless to say, the view was amazing and the decor and details were beautiful. The free minibar had decent offering. There were many amenities but no sanitary pads.Spa was amazing with a great view. We booked the Legend Reborn massage and we enjoyed it lot, the pressure was just right. They arranged an English speaking masseuse for my girlfriend which was a nice touch. The only disappointment that we had was that both the sauna and steam room was not working in the female spa section. As we stayed in the club room, we enjoyed afternoon tea in the club lounge. The view was once again, beautiful but there weren't many vegan options. However, one positive was that all the food had dietary information labeled which is hard to find in China. The breakfast was fantastic, there were many options from Asian to Western cuisines, all of which were very tasty! Again, dietary information was there for each dishes. The only feedback is that some food was mislabeled as vegan despite having egg/diary in them! Service was a highlight; from check in, afternoon tea, breakfast, the spa and check out. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English and have great attention to detail.Overall, I would recommend Regent Pudong and would...
