Parque del Río is an outdoor Christmas lights area throughout the city, along the Río Medellín. Different themes as Moana, Dumbo, Mickey, action heroes and other Disney characters. Street vendors and performers are throughout the area. You can find people singing for tips, different characters working throughout the evening (Edward Scissorhands, La Llorona, The Miner and many others). Plenty of food. Different areas were planned to be the food court in straight lines, where you will find tons of options and competition as well as: Chuzos, hotdogs, corn on the cob, shawarma, BBQ, papa criolla portions, mango biche, churros, soda pops, micheladas, etc. Good amount of law-enforcement, tons of people therefore police presence is essential and always a plus.

Parques del Rio is a gem of a park that left me thoroughly impressed. During a bike tour, I explored its pristine paths and lush greenery, marveling at its cleanliness. Although I missed the chance to attend a bachata social due to time constraints, the promise of such vibrant events adds to its allure. Every year, they decorate the park with lights and such. Last year, they decorated it with Disney decorations. I definitely hope to see it next year. Within the park, there is also a charming cafe, perfect for a leisurely break. My experience was absolutely refreshing. There was peace in the middle of a bustling city. I can't wait to return for more.

It is a public park, created by undergrounding the highway on both sides. As it is a bit new and the trees are still growing so, try to avoid visiting it around noon. It is not long, about 0.28 miles or 0.44 km on each side. It is a good place to walk, sit, picnic and walk the dog. In the evenings some people practice skating, dancing and yoga. Nearby is the restaurant 'Aquí paró Lucho' where it is worth eating the paella they make on Saturdays. You can also enjoy the ice cream of 'Rolados' and the pastries and coffee of 'Dulce Suiza'. There are public restrooms, a little to the north, on both sides.

This park is a great place for walking, running, or just a great place for a picnic. It is a beautiful place for taking photos because of all the different plants and great views of the surrounding mountains. It also has several nice restaurants and small street vendors if you get hungry or thirsty. Saw ppl flying kites and many families spending time together. The many police taking care made me feel very safe to walk around with my camera. I love that it's not as Touristy as other places in Medellín and was able to mingle with the locals in a calm and peaceful setting.

The Escultura Montana painted rock sculpture is a pretty cool site to see. I was walking through the Parques Del Rio and was heading back to centro here in Medellin when I stumbled upon this crazy rock sculpture! Even a tour bus of people showed up right when I was leaving :) I mean it may look like just some stacked painted rocks but I'm sure there is some kind of engineering and meaning behind them.
