We were woken up twice in the night by staff knocking on our door to tell us to move our car after telling us we could park out the front. We were skeptical about parking so asked more than once if they’re sure it’s ok, they said yes every time. At 1am we were woken up by banging on the door by staff, they told us to move the car and had to pay the “security guard” (just a random guy with a bumbag, no uniform) a tip for not telling the police. At 6am we were woken again saying the cops were here, we went downstairs and no cops were there. Just the same “security guard” telling us we had to move it again and asked for another tip. Very unprofessional and rude. The staff could have dealt with this, with the “security guard” (who just wanted money because well, if you’re white you must be loaded with cash right!?) and let us know in the morning. They could have told the guy it’s ok (like they told us) and if the police really were on their way then let them come and then maybe that’s a fair call to wake us up. But not when a toothless, unshowered “security guard” asks for money in order for him to keep the cops away. Also, our shower was broken and cold water only after they advertised hot water. Got free laundry to cover it but still, after our experience we were left very bitter towards the hotel. The only good thing was the included breakfast in the morning (eggs, beans, rice,...

Read moreYou need to have reasonable expectations staying in this hostel. The rooms are small. No AC and no hot water. That was OK with us. We just wanted a small, inexpensive spot to lay our heads. The included breakfast really made the place for us. It was authentic and DELICIOUS. They held our leftovers in the fridge and even warmed it up for us. Location is nice and not terribly noisy. Only very large trucks make it very noisy. We had an issue with our door handle not properly locking and the staff took care of it immediately. The staff was extremely amicable and made sure we had a good time. I’d say this is a good spot for young people who don’t mind thin walls and occasional loud traffic. During the day, it was very quiet; people seemed to be out and about. WiFi was great...
