Arenal Deluxe Villas — Attraction in La Fortuna

This is my second stay with Fabian at the Arenal Deluxe Villas. I stayed here about 2 years ago and it was even more wonderful this time. Clean, towels, pots, pans, dishes, blankets, a desk setup, good parking, tucked away from the busy streets, etc., but we saw so much more wildlife here than anywhere else in La Fortuna. Couples massage at 6 pm by the river with incense, candles and heated blankets - comforted by the sound of rain on the tin roof! Lots of little tree frogs and other frogs at night (bring a good flashlight) by the river trails. In the mornings, have some coffee on the porch and see toucans fly by and land in the trees. Just gorgeous. And a treat on our last day - a small sloth we found in the treeline just across the road from our porch (1 min walk). I always recommend folks stay here. They even added a small workout equipment section near the group outdoor relax area, with dart board. The ambience is unbeatable and Fabian is always the best host. A little market is down the street as well as many delicious restaurants not far. The waterfall is a 7 min drive....

I visited Fabian’s place with my parents and my sister. Fabian always responded to messages within minutes and was really helpful with sharing info on taxis, local tour options, etc. The Blue Village has a well equipped kitchen and has a fantastic view of the Arenal! One can enjoy the beautiful volcano from the balcony over a coffee. 😍 Additionally, the steps to the river are well built (small and hence light on knees which even my 73 year old mother could easily walk down). And the river itself feels like your own private space. Highly recommend having a picnic/afternoon tea etc. There are also nature trails that you can access from the river area (it’s called Halicionas I think) Lastly, the massive washing machine/dryer at the premises ran a 4 day load of clothes for 3 people in no time! Fabians place has a perfect blend of being in nature but also proximity to restaurants and supermarkets. Don’t forget to ask him for local recommendations which he’ll gladly...

STAY HERE! Fabian’s place is absolutely incredible! Truly a special place to stay in Costa Rica. We had a group of nine and rented out 2 units. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable and they were stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the towels were fluffy, and everything was very clean. The shared spaces worked out well for our group too. However, the best part was going down to the river on the property and experiencing all the beauty. We booked 4 massages with Monica and Rebecca, and they were the best massages we’ve ever had, honestly. It was wild. Fabian also went above and beyond to help up plan our stay. We only had two full days and he helped us plan our itinerary and booked all our excursions for us, which was immensely helpful. I’ve stayed a lot in Airbnbs, and have never had a host more willing to help....
